A lot of people in Corinth, Mississippi, are stupid enough to believe this.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on DC: "Nobody wanted to eat out. They were afraid. Even if you were in the restaurant, people would walk in and like the Wild West, 'Hold it up!' Everybody is standing there. Can you imagine? A fancy restaurant. They were robbing the whole restaurant. It's crazy."

Because he's a moron who can't get his neckbearded head around the concept that all these elections are connected, because humanity is connected, which also means -- newsflash -- that these far-right movements are all connected? That beating them one place creates momentum for elsewhere? JFC.

Just two days after this thread, he illustrated my point perfectly. Neoliberalism is simultaneously naive and nihilistic

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

We must do what the country refused to do during Reconstruction: dispossess & banish those who organized & facilitated this vile & lawless regime.

The persecution of @repilhan.bsky.social just days before an election is vile and politically-motivated. I'm leading 175 House Democrats in denouncing this. When we retake power, we have to seriously look at how we can stop these abuses of power — starting with the power of the purse.

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

mathieu gallard@mathieugallard.bsky.social

The real news here is that he is able to correctly identify much later which two asses he has seen, the fake news could not do that, Kaitlan Collins could not remember two completely different asses.

This is a quietly metastasizing moral panic

Republicans are pig ignorant about how polling works, and they’re skeptical of anything that involves math or science. Mike Johnson, a professional Christian nationalist liar, knows this.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mike Johnson: "When I'm in these big arenas, I ask for hands -- 'Show me your hand if you've answered a poll in the last six months.' There will be like three hands among 300 people. I'm telling you, these polls are off. All of them."

Know what is not worth all that buildup? A documentary that reveals that (BOMBSHELL!) Lindsey Graham -- currently dead -- was gay. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Let me guess, they're arresting A. actual non-citizens who did not vote and/or B. citizens whose names are José Rodriguez who are guilty of voting while having a similar name to many José Rodriguezes who are decidedly not US citizens.

🤔 James Carville: “I’d rather Republicans keep the house by 5 than Dems win by 5… Because then they’re hostage to DSA, and Hakeem can’t move.” 😬Bill Kristol: “Good point.” So afraid of DSA folks who want M4ALL, etc. they’d rather Republicans hold power. Unreal. True colors.

Agree w Tom. I’ll stress it’s utterly pathetic of Trump to think of Russia as a peer when it is vastly inferior. What’s worse is that this overestimation is music to Putin’s ears, prevents him from recognizing that russia has lost in Ukraine, and inspires him to dream about even bigger conquests.

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. Sky News journalist James Matthews confronted US Defense Secretary and Trump loyalist Pete Hegseth: “Mr. Secretary, are you Vladimir Putin’s puppet on Ukraine?”

Sources identify Musk as the architect of Starshield restrictions that disrupted Ukraine’s defences during Russian attacks. Others traced the command to the White House. Musk points to Trump and the Pentagon; Trump denies either him or Musk are responsible, leaving Hegseth as a potential scapegoat.
