I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

I just want to name that people overcame this. Even against a stacked deck, the good fight is worth it. Win or lose, it's worth it. And sometimes the good guys win.
Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

I don’t know what the greatest movie of all time is (It’s probably Casablanca) but any serious list of the top ten would have to include Army of Darkness. Hail to the king, baby.

This is 100% correct. But everybody on traitors seems to believe their job gives them super powers. You’ll literally hear shit like: “I’m a dentist. I spend my whole life looking at mouths. I know when they’re filled with tarter buildup, and I know when they’re filled with lies.” It’s amazing.
You can get a nonscientific version of this by watching the show THE TRAITORS, in which everyone is bad at detecting lying buy cops and other people who believe they have an edge are actually the worst at it

I think kindergarten? Like the first time I was with other kids. But I also have this really specific memory of like 6th grade when a big SNL turnover happened. And all the kids at school were wearing The Cheerleaders shirts and doing the dances and I was like “Oh. I really don’t fit in at all.”
QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?
