Day 6 of no-sloptober.com feeling pretty good, honestly having the most fun coding than I've had since June. The first few days def felt some rust shaking off lol.. Planning to check out zig 0.17 this month after I finish "secret project" :) #no-sloptober

Yeah the transition to the Rust version was handled very poorly. If Bun was a serious project: - The Rust version would've been Bun 2.0 - They should have kept the Zig version in LTS mode for another year or so for CVEs, major bugs, etc Eg look how the TypeScript team handled the port to Go.

If youโ€™re not stalking TypeScript PRs, you might be surprised how much you can do with the API in nightlies (and even in 7.0 stable), so hereโ€™s a tiny demo that I think hits some of the highlights. ๐Ÿงต

Probably a day or two away from ready for release, but the native React support for ASP.NET Core MVC is here if anyone wants to have a play. I'm just trying to nail a bunch of convenience bits to make it super easy to use for people used to NextJs etc. github.com/davidwhitney...

I think AI is the best opening we've ever had to bring our engineering values to the mainstream, instead of the top single-digit-percent of teams it's always been. But nondeterminism will take more engineering discipline. Not less. charitydotwtf.substack.com/p/ai-demands...

I especially like the "trivial code changes that meet a threshold of originality", which I capture in my agentic Wardley Map. anything on the left half of the map qualifies as the threshold for original, in other words, "lends competitive advantage". whereas right half is supporting/generic.
