While his mountain of horrible personal conduct could fill multiple books, one fact in particular stands out: A year ago, Musk’s actions directly led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. He did it knowingly. And, worse — gleefully. Read more: www.theverge.com/tech/949259/...

With the recent X class solar flare, it is interesting to learn about contingency plans for Artemis II mission - basically ’empty the Orion storage lockers, crawl inside, and wait out the solar storm’. No warning with gamma rays, but you can try to hide from the 10 MeV protons that arrive later.

John Connolly is great at defining the trade space of Moon and Mars mission architectures. His workshops at ISU are fantastic.

How to select a Mars space architecture for human missions? Critical factors range from the dispersal of landing sites to how electricity is produced on-site. fiso.spiritastro.net/telecon16-18... There's great art of a solar-electric Mars craft on the first slide.

Shocking that while we are horrified at the illegal tactics used by the anonymous armed gangs claiming to be “ICE” - Republicans in Congress just voted to fund ICE at $150B - about $1000 per taxpayer - to create more armed gangs and concentration camps.

Another PET scan this morning to check on my thyroid cancer. Which means another few hours of me at home emitting 511 keV gamma rays from electron-positron annihilation. Fascinating technology. Better health through anti-matter.

Donald's babysitters must have been *extra-busy* today keeping that thin-skinned toddler from seeing pics of all the thousands of people throughout America taking to streets to say they are OVER Trump and Musk and the chaos/destruction they bring.
