Hostile govt. If the chuckleheads who support this removal action ever faced this kind of hostility from govt while just trying to get around they’d loose their fucking minds.

A mayoral candidate in Ottawa has come out against Alto High-Speed Rail. I don’t understand point #2: “If this doesn’t go downtown to downtown, adding 30 mins at each end defeats the whole purpose.” I thought we didn’t know the route yet? Opposing it based on an “if”?

Neil Saravanamuttoo@neilsara.bsky.social

I love the concept of high speed rail, but Alto is a deeply flawed proposal that needs to be rejected. Here’s why I’m a No to Alto. NeilForMayor.ca

I think it was really brave of the mayor to share this but oh boy, have the online comments been a sickening reminder of how much people hate women. Somehow, the person getting a pat on the back on social media is Loomis while the mayor takes more abuse for vulnerably sharing her experience.

This historic snowfall will surely cause the roof of the Ontario Science Centre to collapse, right? Seeing as how it was already at “critical risk” of collapse before? Right?

A crossing guard was killed by the driver of a dump truck yesterday. absolutely heartbreaking. Look at our intersections, look how hostile these are for people/children - this is what we continue to build and defend at all costs. The province is creating the Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency (OPCA) to "provide centralized leadership, efficient governance, strategic direction and oversight of all conservation authorities." Some conservation authorities will be consolidated, but the province insists no jobs will be lost.

Heads-up, Canada, it seems Wayne Gretzky is eventually going to call all of us and cry, rather than simply publicly denounce his friend Donald Trump’s plan to annex our nation. Someone really needs to tell Gretzky to skate to where the puck is going, not where it has been.

The worst is new sidewalks that are super sloped for every curb cut. I'm so happy I finished with strollers before those came. City planners should be required to walk around the city with a stroller full of stemware and a large ill-trained puppy on a leash to get the proper parent experience.

Walking around my neighborhood in #HamOnt with a young baby has been infuriating. She’s just 10 weeks old and we’ve almost been hit by a car 5 times in crosswalks. We need better road design.
