Last night's Hamilton elections result publishing malfunction was the result of screw-ups by the City of Hamilton's "award winning" IT. Instead of preparing for election night, City's top managers was focused on modifying HSR computers to shut down automated bus cancellation alerts #HamOnt #yhmcc

The City of Hamilton's "award-winning" IT teams have achieved the top priority of the HSR. The HSR has disabled the automatic GTFS real-time data alerts for missing buses. Real-time data analysis I just ran shows buses missing on Routes 20 and 43 -- the same daily cancellations as past months

My peak server demand last night was 12,067 active visitors at 10:19 p.m. This includes everything, I haven't divided into devices, browsers, bots, etc.

Live Thread - Election Night. On City has released thus far for the mayoral contest. With around half of the city-wide tabulators reporting Loomis' lead can be seen as hopeful for him because there are fewer polls in Wards 1 to 3 reporting at this time. Cooper can hope on 15 #yhmvote #HamOnt

Here is my plan for the rest of tonight. I am staying at City Hall until the end of the tabulator processing -- just in case something odd happens. The estimate for final count to be processed is ~1245 a.m. #yhmvote #HamOnt

We're now at 75 per cent of polls reporting in many places. At midnight, let's go through out ward. Ward 1 - ignore the reported numbers. I'm at City Hall and it is extremely close. Ward 2, 3: incumbents Kroetsch and Nann re-elected.

Ward 4: Jason Farr returns to City Council with a comfortable margin. Ward 5: Francis re-elected Ward 6: Jackson reelected. Ward 7: This could be an incumbent defeat. *watching* Ward 8: Dawn Danko with a strong win. Ward 9: This could be another incumbent defeat *watching* Ward 10: too close

I am in the public area of City Hall. I can overhear the counting room. Over 100 tabulators left to be processed, with a time estimate of over 90 minutes. #yhmvote #HamOnt

The Redeemer special advance post receipt was just posted at City Hall. What I find interesting - with a *very* small sample is that the student voters went heavily for Loomis. The Ward 12 student voters went for Bennink. #yhmvote #HamOnt

Maureen Wilson's representative is still here at City Hall. They are waiting for the special polls to be printed out. Ward 1 is extremely close. I overhead a number under 100 separating Wilson and Savelli with seniors and apartment polls to be counted. #HamOnt #yhmvote
