All I can say at this point is after all this, whichever team wins the Championship, that team's fanbase will immediately enter into "Can't Tell Us A Goddamn Thing" territory. #WNBA

Slightly grudging mad respect

When Kiah Stokes made her #WNBA debut in 2015, Jim Dolan scheduled Isiah Thomas’s second press conference of the day for the same time as player pregame avail, so there were no other reporters there to talk to her as she spoke. Now look at her. Story TK @theixsports.bsky.social

A 28-year-old convicted murderer serving a life sentence escaped through a Tennessee prison's fence Sunday evening before stealing a truck and driving off — and has not yet been located, according to Tennessee authorities. https://cnn.it/4svki6y

the WNBA finals is some Rileyball shit and, look, I fucking hated Rileyball, but this should put to rest any “the women aren’t tough” garbage they’re here to fucking kill each other

Okay, if this was truly an option, that makes the ultimate decision 3000x worse. "Option two was to move Game 6 to an open date at State Farm Arena on Friday, then shift a potential Game 7 back three days to Nov. 3, when the Valkyries’ home arena, Chase Center, is available."

but I guarantee you, if their turnover queen great white hope was in the Finals, they would have moved heaven and earth to ensure every game was on national television in primetime #WNBA

Also let me just say that while I am not holding back from opining I know exactly fuck all about contracting for arena space so plz don't listen to me thanks. (I did used to negotiate media rights, but still.)

The W fucked this up. It's awful. AND I'm seeing a lot of takes that don't understand that Atlanta and San Francisco are VERY different cities with VERY different populations. There's some gross undertones in some of the commentary I'm seeing. #wnba

BREAKING: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be held Thursday at 12:30pm ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It will be a double-header with the Atlanta Hawks’ game, which will be moved to 8pm.

Listen, if we have to win the championship at Gateway, so be it.

Alex Simon@alexsimonsports.bsky.social

The WNBA hasn't said anything publicly. The game itself is scheduled for Thursday, when the Hawks have a game scheduled. An exec for the Hawks said playing at Gateway Center Arena "might be unavoidable" on Atlanta-area radio yesterday... but negotiations are still ongoing.

Be strong in your convictions and quit screeming crying throwing up to us for absolution.

People that truly feel they are trans allies and who also feel very strongly that anti-trans Dems should win elections have exactly one option: support the anti-trans Dems they want and leave us alone. Go knock on doors! Go text bank! Leave us alone.

In 2005, Time Magazine did a cover story on “The Battle Over Gay Teens.” It’s the same handwringing we see now from “concerned” adults on behalf of young people. “Kids are disclosing their homosexuality with unprecedented regularity–and they are doing so much younger.” time.com/archive/6596...

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.
