After exactly zero people asked, I wrote something a bit more personal about my journey at Netlify and how I think about my work. eduardoboucas.com/posts/2026-0...

My office wall now shows live traffic from the @netlify.com edge network. I wrote about how I built this. 🔗 eduardoboucas.com/posts/2026-0...
I don’t usually talk about living with T1 diabetes, because I never thought that could help anyone, but chatting with @scott.hanselman.com made me change my mind. He helps a lot of people (myself included) by sharing his struggles, so if there’s someone I could help in some way, it’s worth a try.

We’ve recently lifted some limitations on the @netlify.com platform. 1️⃣ If you gate access to your site using password protection or single sign-on (SSO), you can now use scheduled functions and event-triggered functions, which wasn’t possible before. 🔗 docs.netlify.com/build/functi...
3️⃣ This is a small one, but people (and especially agents) like to define a `path` property in functions that matches the default /.netlify/functions/<name> URL. This was not allowed, but is now. 🔗 docs.netlify.com/build/functi...

2️⃣ The Netlify Cache API now supports the stale-while-revalidate directive, letting you serve a stale response from the cache while fetching a fresh one in the background. The `fetchWithCache` method now handles revalidation automatically. 🔗 docs.netlify.com/build/cachin...
I’m really proud of all the work that happened behind the scenes, nonstop for days on end, including evenings and weekends, so we could keep our customers safe. Read all about how @netlify.com responded to the React2Shell vulnerability. 🔗 www.netlify.com/blog/ongoing...
If you use Scheduled Functions on @netlify.com, this one is for you. You can now manually trigger your functions from the logs page. Since scheduled functions only run automatically on production deploys, testing with deploy previews was a bit awkward. No more! 🔗 docs.netlify.com/build/functi...
At @netlify.com, we use Netlify to build Netlify. This is a small anecdote of a customer who sent us a feature request regarding our Blobs product: they wanted to delete entries and entire stores from the UI. We used Netlify Agent Runners to build this and shipped it to production in record time.

If you build a sandwich, please share it! I'd love to see what funky combinations y'all come up with. Also, the entire application is available at github.com/netlify/sand.... If you have feature requests or you decide to deploy your own shop, I'd love to hear about it too. 🔚

To address this, I created a serverless function that renders an image of any combination of bread and fillings. Example: sandwish.netlify.app/sandwich-pre... It uses Netlify's caching primitives so that once we generate a combination once, we cache it and never have to generate it again.

This is a vanilla @vite.dev single-page application, vibe-coded with @windsurfai.bsky.social and Claude Code. There was very little that I coded by hand. All images were generated with ChatGPT and then resized/optimised with the ImageMagick CLI, through a script I also vibe-coded.
I used the Netlify Vite Plugin to bring all of the @netlify.com platform right into Vite's native local development flow. This gave me a data storage solution and a serverless backend for free, without having to configure anything or introduce additional tooling. Love the simplicity.
Let’s do this. 🔴 www.twitch.tv/eduardoboucas
I want to add a new feature to eduardoboucas.com and I think it could be fun to do it live. Join me and let’s vibe this thing together! Tomorrow, August 1st, at 4pm UTC. I’ll share the link here before it starts. (If I can figure out how that even works.)
