I'm cynical but passionate and optimistic about the future. I'm into landscape fauna ecology especially in the arid and semi arid zones. 😁 PS not a huge fan of cat and puppy photos.

No. We should not protect them, BUT we should develop a means of sending them back as part of breeding programs to restablish wild populations. They are incompatible with the Australian environment and cause severe damage impacting native species and ecosystems.

The Conversation AUNZ@aunz.theconversation.com

Wild dromedary herds no longer roam the Sahara, while wild banteng are vanishingly rare in Southeast Asia. Should we protect their feral populations in Australia? 👉 Read the full story:

Such a good point made (yet again). As ecologists we need to study the ecosystem in the face of its extreme complexity and the limited knowledge we have of it. That is our lot. There’s a hidden bias affecting what we know – and don’t know – about nature theconversation.com/theres-a-hid...

Interesting. I just processed a 30G DEM file to get contours (2m) and it created a 80G geopackage. No room left to do anything else. 🤣

Our research across the range of sandalwood in Western Australia has found there has effectively been zero recruitment over the past century. All we have left are old & very old trees. Ripping these last few plants out of the ground to make a bit more perfume is the very definition of unsustainable.

The laughable promise of every government. It was the previous LNP govt that closed down services and this was never rectified by the ALP govt that followed. The only skill governments have in dealing with mental healtht, youth or otherwise, is to make it invisible until the next election campaign.

Allowing Open AI to call these “rogue agents” lets them dodge responsibility - they made them, directed them and set them free without caring about the consequences. Our laws need to catch up to hold them accountable before worse happens.

What utter confected BS. If an ICE vehicle owner was low on fuel, wouldn't they also be in trouble? Or do they just magic some fuel and all will be right with the world? Stupid, stupid story - my guess A(rtificial)Idiot or a human idiot.

In my mind, the ALP, LNP, ON, etc have never been supporters of enviro conservation at any level. +30yrs of having to deal with these bought-&-paid-for industry shills has only cemented them as nothing more than abusers of future generations, and that also applies to their self-entitled supporters.

It's so funny that Water Corp think the #EPAWA are about environmental protection. EPAWA have never been about environmental protection, rather they are all about proponent facilitation through the system.

WA Premier Mark McGowan told Alcoa it must better protect Perth's water supply or face curtailed mining and "significant job losses," but his successor, Roger Cook, folded and did the opposite. Now Water Corp wants EPA support to fix the problem.
