My progress over the last several weeks have really slowed. I really want to publish to steam (atleast a demo) in the next 2 months. Any advice? Work and life really kept me preoccupied lately. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

The name of the game this week is JUICE. Game needs more polish and more feedback when blocks drop and are matched. Just doesnt feel good enough right now. #gamedev #indiedev #godot

Well finally finished by border effect/component for buttons. Man that took too long. #godot #gamedev #indiedev

Happy Friday! What is everyone working on this weekend? I need to add some polish and animations to my game to improve the feedback. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

Back from a weekend away. I have a busy work week so going to try to get time for development when I can. The goal right now is to add the polish needed to make the game feel finished enough for a trailer and demo. Mostly animations and feedback. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

Finished majority of art for the Steam page, now need to get a trailer done, which will probably lead to some game updates as well. Want to get a trailer made for that steam page though so I Can get it up. #indiedev #gamedev #solodev

For the game devs who stream on twitch, where did you start ? I don't know how to plan for it or what to do to get going. #gamedev #twitch

Been doing some UI updates the last two days and its actually pretty crazy how much better it makes the game feel during testing. I know UI is an afterthought but sometimes making your demo feel more polished earlier makes you want to work on it so much more. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

This is what I got done today. I changed the card selection menu to have some pop up displays and associated hint for select. Pretty happy with how it came out and nice to get it done today. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

Spent the morning updating the UI for the card select screens. Will share the final result later tonight. I think its a lot cleaner now and leverages components from my last jam. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

With all of the discourse about getting your game up sooner rather than later, I still cant decide. Should I make a steam page and use Demo/Early Access or should I use itch? #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

Fascinating second day at DICE.. it’s a closed door event so you know, no details to share.. but those hoping for the next few weeks of games discourse to calm down are advised that that is unlikely.

Works been crazy the last few weeks and I haven't had the time or energy to make much progress. Its unavoidable there will be some 0 days in the mix but a longer stretch like this is still a bummer. Need to get back in the swing of it soon. #gamedev #indiedev

I'm curious, where do game devs start when they want to start making devlogs or content around their games? Streaming? Shorts? Not sure where to begin that is a good entry point to ease in. #gamedev #indiegame #solodev

Happy Monday! After spending about 2 weeks on figuring out on music, I spent alot of yesterday just playing the build to make sure its ready. I found a few bugs and some improvements but I am getting closer to the finish line. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

Ok here is what I have so far, Its a start and I think its what I am going to stick with for now. Any thoughts or feedbacl would be great #gamedev #indiedev #gamemusic

I have made so little progress on the game's music the last few days. Trying to make something simple but catchy has been difficult. Any tips for a solo dev trying to make some basic chiptune? #gamedev #gamemusic #chiptune

I find that the music is the most consuming part of game dev for me. Maybe its just cause I am not that familiar, but I find myself spending a ton of time finding sounds or playing around with chords / patterns than I realize. #gamedev #indiedev #videogamemusic #chiptune

Here's what we got done today. Naturally, I am finding some more issues right before I want to publish but we are pretty close right now. I think the movement could feel a bit better but feedback will help with that. Biggest thing is I need to add updated music. #gamedev #indiedev #godot

There are two games in recent memory that I have really found super addicting in the past year or two. Megabonk and Guildrun. Both scratch that same itch. #videogames

Wasn't able to make any progress today. Worked later than expected. I think thats unavoidable some days when game dev is a side project. #gamedev

I think stack the Deck can definitely be a steam release, the problem I keep running into right now is difficulty scaling and how to make it challenging enough. I have a few mechanics I can add, but would like to see how it works with the bare minimum. Hope this alpha test helps. #gamedev #indiedev

I spent more time this weekend just playing my game since it had been a while. Gave me a chance to remember what the game is missing before demo release. I realized doing this that feedback would help alot so Im hoping to get an alpha on itch by friday. Fingers crossed. #gamedev #indiegame

Okay we are back. Going to comb through the bugs list today and revisit what is needed to finalize an alpha build. Let's get to work. #gamedev #sologamedev

Going on vacation for a week. When I return, will be fully focused on getting out an alpha build of Stack the deck. Can't wait.

Have my devlog ready for itch but the site is down it seems. Should have it posted tomorrow. I have been debating starting up a youtube and this is probably another reason to do that. Anyway, devlog will be up tomorrow probably! #gamedev #itch #solodevlog

itch.ioitch.io

Do any game devs publish short stories related to their story games when they write the games narrative. If so where do they publish. Im curious #gamedev #gamewriting

I plan to put out a devlog tommorow with my experience working on it the past few weeks, where I go from here and what I am working on next. I don't think I will be continuing work on this going forward but will be taking some of the lessons from here into my main project. #sologamedev #indiedev

Ok so I think I am done with Spin to the Void for what I plan to put on itch. Here is a preview of the title screen. I'll export and publish tomorrow along with a devlog. Its just a demo project and obv would need more work to be a real game but more on that in the devlog. #gamedev #solodev #itch

Decided to see what I could make as far as theme music goes for Spin to the Void. Let me know what you think. Kept it pretty simple. With this done I think I can publish to itch in a day or 2. #gamedev #music #Chiptune

Just fixed a bug with one of the menus loading the proper data. As far as what I want to get done for a prototype build, its mostly just menu / ui polish left. I'm wondering now, is it worth trying to add theme music to this or are sound effects enough? #gamedev

Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Did a chunk of visual polish yesterday. Mostly related to shaders and transitions. ✅CRT Shader ✅ Added a few scene transitions ✅ Updated the Enemy Slow effect ✅ Minor tweaks to card animations. ✅ Added an enemy destroy animation Im just about ready to call it done (enough for itch) #gamedev

I'm debating if I want to add some UI polish/effects to my small game tonight. Menu formats, button/card effects, Scene transitions. Things like that. I think it might be worth it since they can be re used in the future pretty easily. #gamedev

Got Some more done tonight. Pretty much everything left now falls under these areas. - UI tweaks. - Maybe some animations - Music. Since this was originally intended as a small project for a game jam I think Scaling and some bugs are going to be in there. Fix them later. #gamedev #godot #solodev

I need to finish the small game I have been working on this weekend. It was originally supposed to be part of the Juniper Dev Game Jam and we are about 2 weeks past that.🙃 Didn't hit the submission but want to publish it anyway so I could finish something end to end. #gamejam #gamedev

Added a bit of UI effect to my small space shooter game. ✅ A little floating description box on hover. Should be useful down the line, so glad I added it. #gamedev #godot
