Speaking of great student projects, this is a really fun game by some alum of RIT who we saw a lot of at festivals and cons last year. Special s/o to @drewg8.itch.io!

Pelican Post will be taking part in Steam Next Fest from Oct 19th-26th! If you haven't gotten a chance to try the demo yet, this is the perfect time to do it!

i missed seeing roguelike celebration live, but i got to hear a version of this talk earlier this year in NYC, and it’s really incredible

Cat Manning@catacalypto.bsky.social

watching @roguelike.club; this morning has been really good and I have been looking forward to @everest.bsky.social’s talk

For those who know Steam marketing timelines, this puts a little bit of a scary deadline over our heads, but I'm also really excited!

I'm very please to announce a public release of my drag-and-drop bookmarking, game-making, and wandering tool Scrubjay! Scrubjay is a weird website builder that lets you cobble together web elements, images, links, text fragments, etc into a series of nested rooms...

Hey! Since our demo launched on Steam this summer, we've been taking a break. But now we're back to work and focusing on fixing a thorny problem: motion sickness with the truck.

Ambient play is one of the most interesting thing happening in games for me, and this is a really awesome collection celebrating it!

The demo for MUTAGEN is out NOW! 👾 Explore a lush, interconnected alien ecosystem that reshapes itself each time you die. Absorb mutations from your fallen kin to reach new areas and adapt to your surroundings. Find your own solutions, and unearth the planet's many secrets. #gamedev #indiegame

it's a close race between Titanium Court and Cairn for me. Big Walk and Marathon would probably have chance, but I need to play more of them

as far as i'm concerned, there is no difference between a "controller" and a "manager" in programming and it's just all about what will make the class name sound coolest

otherwise had a very good time! the game is very strange but also very cool with a huge lobby (10-12 people), but I also definitely want to go back and play through with a smaller group so I can see the many, many puzzles I missed. I also need to get the achievement for beating the game!

Gonna be blunt, the reason I complain about AI so much is because it's made so much extra work for me, as I'm inundated with AI slopware games that I have to sort through and filter out, if this garbage tech ceased to exist tomorrow, it would be an immediate ease of that workload.

Falling asleep and hoping I wake up in the alternate reality where Sufjan Stevens did write an album for each of the 50 states. At the very least, one for New York.

This rules: @adriansandoval.net has been building a wiki about local Philadelphia game dev history. AND, recognizing that he is a single point of failure, he's seeking local government funding to support the site and partner with local groups for its stewardship

one of the things about working in a creative field is that you sometimes end up watching stuff that you might not personally love but which is doing something interesting / important / useful to your project over and over and over again

has anyone made a solo journaling or mapmaking ttrpg that uses bespoke drawing or procgen software? something like Moss or Become a Great Artist. seems like there's some cool stuff to be explored there
