Last month we lost our jobs. This month we made new ones. Introducing X BUTTON: an independent gaming network from three ex-IGN employees. A new weekly Nintendo podcast! A new weekly video game podcast! And that’s just the start, but we can’t do it without your help! www.patreon.com/cw/XButtonShow

Reminder for UK employees (and employers for that matter): Union recognition is important and supporting ppl's fight for it is great, however employees without a recognition agreement are still protected and can still be represented by their union.

Another 2k viewers down. This is an amazing car crash. They have less viewers now than were at the countdown clock before the event.

I was talking to somebody at a UK council recently and they said they’ve been overwhelmed by GenAI complaints. People sending in 30 page ChatGPT documents about hedge disputes and such. They can’t function.

This post is unavailable.

That guy is a fucking idiot of the highest order, and I have no idea why media organisations platformed him like that. He has absolutely no fucking idea what he is talking about. It’s similar with the Anthropic CEO going on about AI botnets crashing the internet. He has no idea what he is on about.

I’ve used BBC News as my primary news source my entire life, but the absolute deluge of GenAI stories sourced from a small number of companies is turning me away. Today we’ve had 3 different YouTube videos, a headline news story, TV reports and at one stage recently every single technology story.

The very companies most likely to financially benefit from AI hype are hyping AI to line their pockets, day 1500.

Saber Interactive has been caught out using Generative AI in game production without disclosing so.. and then its CEO issued this unhinged statement to media going after the whistleblower. I'd recommend blocking Saber Interactive on Steam until the board fire this dude.

Saber Interactive has denied renewed claims that it replaced a former Lead Writer so it could “use ChatGPT” in the development of the recently announced title, Rideshare “Stimulator.” In a statement to PC Gamer, Saber also acknowledged previously undisclosed genAI use elsewhere in the title.

So, @annijyn.com just reminded me of the end of Labyrinth, and how politically/socially formative it was for me. Reject the patriarchy! Do not go with the charismatic man leader! Embrace the collective and your community of weirdos! Turn wrong uns into owls!

NEW: CWA union members have inflated a giant rat and deployed a wall of red flags representing laid off Xbox workers outside the Bethesda office in Rockville. The protest was timed to coincide with a visit from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who is apparently at the studio today.
