Election Day is a week from tomorrow and early voting has started in much of the country. If you’ve been waiting to make a difference in the midterms, now is the time!

It's both #AceWeek and the itchio Halloween Sale 2026, so Werecockroach is $0.74 on itchio for a limited time. This is a gentle novella of alien first contact and cockroach shapeshifters with an aroace lead. polenth.itch.io/werecockroach
Much as I love Skyscraper, it's gotten this song stuck in my head, so now it's your problem. https://youtu.be/r_8ydghbGSg?is=3jofcKXMm1aRBOSJ

Early voting is how stop Trump’s election sabotage, so we need to continue pushing for bigger and bigger numbers. Use this No Kings tool to make a plan to vote early and share it widely to encourage your friends and family to do the same: www.nokings.org/vote-plan?SQ...
Oh look, it's me posting on yet another combined Bluesky/Mastodon app, but this one might be a keeper. Beautifully accessible and also lets you view RSS feeds and YouTube channels in-app. Thanks @fastfinge.interfree.ca for the rec. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skyscraper-social/id6754198379
I can carry hundreds of books in my pocket, and with a refreshable Braille display, I can access most things almost instantly. They even have displays for tactile graphics now, wish I'd had that in school.
Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?
Mr. Beat is one of my favorite history/politics YouTubers. Here's his latest video, share it with anyone you know who might still be on the fence about voting.

Vote as early as you can. In person, if you can. Be as obnoxious as possible about letting others know they should do the same. "Voting early is the biggest expression of middle fingers up."

‘expectations’ were high for the new collab between Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, and they were met. Roan guested on Rodrigo’s remix of her song, and David Byrne appeared in the music video.

Don’t believe the polls. Don’t believe the news that they’ve finally seen the light. Vote as early as you can, in person if you can. Be as annoying as possible about reminding everyone you know that voting starts soon.
MAGA voters wrecked Trump in a recent focus group, blasting his taxpayer-funded ad scam as "despicable" and calling him "power-hungry." On the pod, @paulcrider.liberalcurrents.com is so good on how Trump's dictator rule helping create an anti-authoritarian coalition: newrepublic.com/article/2165...

Sharing this because NYers who are unenthusiastic about casting a vote for Kathy Hochul need to know that the alternative, Bruce Blakeman, is a genuinely evil piece of shit. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/n...

Vote as early as possible. In person, if possible. Make it so all ballot fuckups and cheats come from the GOP side. And be the annoying friend who never shuts up about this.
Many states require that mail ballots be postmarked by a specific day. But due to a USPS rule announced late last year, voters may need to put their ballot in a mailbox days in advance.
As a Nassau County resident, for the love of God DO NOT let Blakeman beat Hochul!! You know all those reasons you appreciate living in a blue state even if you're in a reddish part of it? Remember those and vote like they could be lost at any time.
I know that some of you NYers think your vote doesn't matter in this election but A) of course it does and B) I think Governor will be closer than it looks, and if we let Bruce Blakeman beat Kathy Hochul, Debra Messing wins.
Watching the #Islanders home opener, where before the game, a 105-year-old WWII veteran played the national anthem on the sax. Sounded great, and brought our guys good luck, it's 3-0 Isles in the 2nd!

Really good news for Americans! I hope the UK will adopt this guidance too.
As of today, the CDC has changed (reverted) their Covid guidance to make the vaccine recommended for all people over 18. In addition to being a smart public health move, this recommendation also means insurance must cover it. Read more here: www.cdc.gov/covid/hcp/va... Listen to a breakdown here:

What ho, the exceedingly bright full moon and the screaming fox remind me: for the first time in forever, it’s Alexander night! Get yourself a book about a werewolf lord who’s stuck playing best man in a world where weddings can be deadly supernatural affairs. bsky.app/profile/anna...
The Bridal Party, adult romantasy. Cass and her event company have seen everything working weddings. Fey, demons, jilted ex-lovers. Nothing prepared this jaded mercenary for a royal wedding attended by the Lord of Demons and a Lord of Amaranth, who evades her questions and flirts with her.
