Great seeing responsively sized iframes landing in Chrome - developer.chrome.com/blog/respons... In my post "The browser is the sandbox", I said: "We need a way to size the outer-iframe (or iframes in general) that doesn’t rely on access to iframe.[...].innerHeight and sandbox='allow-same-origin'"

developer.chrome.comResponsive iframes in Chrome 154  |  Blog  |  Chrome for DevelopersChrome 154 adds support for responsively-sized iframes, letting an iframe size itself based on the intrinsic size of its embedded document.

@pfrazee.com I'm only just getting into The Discourse, so sorry if this is naive, but I'm not familiar with "open society" as used here. How, if at all, would an open society approach access restrictions? ATM I'm thinking everything from driver's licenses & job certifications to nuclear arms control

P(aul) Frazee@pfrazee.com

That is EXACTLY the situation. You either trust an open society to maintain itself, or you reject an open society. Maybe we should back up here. What is the natural state of a human

I didn't expect the iPhone Duo to have Pencil support. Even thr promise to being support in the futute makes it significantly more interesting to me 🤔

The Chrome DevTools team are doing a "papercuts" sprint where they try to address lots of small, irritating bugs and annoyances. Reply with crbug.com links (no bug, no fix—that's the deal!) and will see what we can do. No promises though as some may be features/too big/unclear how to solve.

I’m seizing this moment, as I’ve already sent a selection of 10 bugs to our DevTools team for them to look at 😁 Which papercut bugs would you like to see solved? Send me your crbugs and I’ll forward them. No crbug to point to? No worries: you can always file new ones at crbug.com/new 😉

Was it all a bit of a faff to integrate? Yes. Did I get rate limited multiple times? Absolutely. But do I think it’s worth doing? I think this is going to do *wonders* for website discovery, so without a doubt. bell.bz/i-did-the-st...

Giving Marathon a shot First impressionc Beautiful game. Feels great. Bursting at the seems with style. Really curious about this world. Shame about the omnipresent inescapable PvP

Apparently there's a social network for people in music called Vampr. Using a name that suggests leeching off of others was certainly a choice

/me accidentally typos "WeebExtension" /my brain: A lot of people making extensions like Japanese culture, but WeebExtension is a bit much, okay?

Really think we could stand to drop the utterly credulous headline style of "Billionaire says doorway to Narnia will be open by 2027"

There's been a quiet discourse among creators about this for quite some time, but it's no longer that quiet. I hate what AI is doing to the internet. Yes, it has its upsides. But the downsides outweigh those IMO. I have my own thoughts and feelings about the state of things that are still brewing.😞

Heartbreaking. And a wake-up call. It is no longer about being difficult to find a way to sustain yourself through your work online. It is no longer sustainable to keep a website up now. Axel has done so much for the web and all of us. Buy one of his books if you can. We've learned so much from him.

I mostly lean on anxiety. I start by not being sure what to write, move on to doubting my expertise, take a break to worry about what will happen if I'm wrong, and finally talk myself out of posting anything at all

@joshwcomeau.com I'm curious how you go about designing your courses. Did you study education or instructional design? Do you have any resources you'd recommend for others looking to build courses or other educational resources that work for students?

Rephrasing an idea from this post: AI automation isn't like industrialization. Improper use of industrial tools can severely harm workers. Improper use of vibe coding puts the end user at risk

More and more people I deeply respect and have learned a lot from over the years feel like they are speaking into a void, to the point where they are losing motivation to continue making content, which got me to write my first post on my site in over a year... www.kevinpowell.co/article/tell...

I've been going through the same thing for more than a year. At first I thought I was alone, until more and more people started opening up and speaking out. That's why I'm grateful for Kevin and others. Like Kevin said, do support the educators you value—send them a Thank You, buy their courses 1/2

Did you know that airplanes are actually TOO close to the cloud to get good WiFi? Its true! We all know the internet is bits of data. But where do the bits come from? Turns out The Cloud spontaneously emits quantum wave packets that coalesce into WiFi radio waves after traveling at least 93 meters!

P(aul) Frazee@pfrazee.com

Explain to me why airplane wifi is slower despite being closer to the cloud

So, if you’re not getting good WiFi on your next flight, try asking the pilot to drop to a lower altitude. They can’t always do this, but if they can, your laptop will thank you!

This guy is on to something

Takeout/delivery and cooking your own food are both wrong. Instead you should be extracting atmospheric dust, nutrients, and moisture using specialized microscopic hairs called trichomes.

Google I/O was a good reminder that what I really want out of life is community. To be with, enjoy, celebrate, collaborate, and support other people. That's the root of my love for the web and desire to improve it

For me the biggest surprise of yesterday's I/O announcements was how easy they made it to vibe code an android app and submit it to Play I'm really curious what they're doing on the app review side to handle the increased submission volume vibe coding has created let alone this new flow
