The best way to get the Epstein files is by impeaching Blanche. Do it on day one of the next Congress. There's plenty of evidence he is violating thew law, obstructing justice, and has a massive conflict of interest. If necessary, keep impeaching his replacements until the files are released.

Local governments here have all kinds of rules to reduce light pollution. Geoengineers are thinking of ways to reflect more sunlight away from the earth. Ton of species are already confused by human-sourced lights. This is madness!

So now our best hope isn't to stop warming below 1.5C, but to stop warming at 1.8C and then back down to 1.5C. Are you going to do this the easy way or the hard way?

Think about this. The fossil fuel companies and their owners are getting even richer because of the fuel price increases caused by the Iran war. Any sympathy one has for them surely evaporates in this blatant profiteering. We MUST free ourselves from any dependencies on these leeches.

Yup, renewables are now cheaper, cleaner, more reliable, and better for the climate. Anyone who works in opposition is not only wrong, but also a bad capitalist.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

Not just the fastest, or the cheapest, or the best, but the *only* possible solution to climate change is a rapid global buildout of clean energy infrastructure. If you're standing in the way of that, you're not working on climate change & should be honest with yourself about your priorities.

At what point do the folks who were all up in arms about Biden's fitness for office show even comparable concern about a situation that is obviously much, much worse?

Looking back fondly on the days when calling the judge on your case a crazed lunatic was actually a bad thing and doomed your chances in court.

I don't know why he hasn't figured it out (well, yes I have), but if somehow Canada were to merge with the USA (it won't) it would join as 13 new states, and those 26 new senators would vote as one to convict that bully in the resulting impeachment trial.

Back when I was a wee lad, politicians had to hire someone to surreptitiously tell despicable lies about their opponents. Now things are so much easier, they can do it themselves. Isn't progress wonderful?

At some point shame stopped being a thing. That's when our civilization began its inevitable decline.

I heard the president is looking for some way to get out of Iran. I suggest he try bone spurs, I hear they've proven useful in the past.

Wandering through the garden I discover a kale plant that somehow somehow survived weeks of no rain and not getting watered, and it was delicious on my omelet this morning.

I hate to tell you this, but "super intelligence" is the entity that takes over and supplants humanity in all those sci-fi movies and shows. Do they really want to admit that they're inventing our new overlords? I suggest they go back to the drawing board on this one, for their own good.

My dentist gave me some sunglasses to wear while he was working on me. After I put them on he commented that I looked just like Max Headroom. He then put this picture up on the screen so I could look at some perfect teeth other than my own while he drilled away.

Bandcamp Friday is tomorrow. That's September 4, 2026. Support your favorite indie artists by downloading from Bandcamp, even better if you do it on that day, as the artist gets almost all of it. doctorrubato.bandcamp.com/album/steali...

The best way to support indie musicians? Download their music from Bandcamp, where artists get 80-85% of the revenue, instead of the fraction of a cent elsewhere. The best day? Bandcamp Friday, Aug 7, 2026, when artists get nearly 100%! Here's my album: doctorrubato.bandcamp.com/album/steali...

Makes me laugh. Our guy institutes historically high tax increases on Americans, so, in retribution, the Canadians institute massive tax increases on their own citizens. Almost like a boxing match where each contestant tries to punch themselves in the face harder than the other guy.

Is there any doubt why sleepy don likes this guy so much? Just remember, donnie seems to be able to sleep anywhere, even with no bed or pillow in sight, so obviously lumpy mikey is expendable.

The McConnell Rule: If it's the same year as an election for the replacement of a senator who's not running for reelection, and the senate is held by the same party as that senator, you (have to/don't have to) announce the death of the senator.

Facts: (1) Taco Bell lettuce has been confirmed as source of diarrhea plaguing the nation. (2) Trump lives on fast food, and in fact his nickname is "Taco". (3) Last night we had yet another instance of explosive diarrhea coming from Trump's mouth in public. Coincidence? I think not.

This post is for Colorado voters who haven't yet turned in your Democratic primary ballot. I recommend State Senator Jessie Danielson for Secretary of State. I'm not even in her district, but has helped me immensely, and she's a huge advocate for people with disabilities. 1/5

PS, if you live in a state that doesn't prevent insurance companies from claiming the final word, petition your legislators to write such a law. Use Colorado's law as an example. Best would be a federal law, but there isn't much appetite in Congress to touch anything about employee benefits.

When my insurance company appealed the court ruling in my favor on the grounds they had such a clause, I took my case to Jessie. She and her staff wrote a new law saying, yes, we really mean it, a judge must be allowed to rule on insurance denials. Plus it closed any possible loopholes. 3/5

This was during COVID when the legislature was in only limited session. With my testimony, Jessie got this new law passed unanimously (!!!) and signed into law. 4/5

According to federal law, if your insurance is through your employer it can't be reviewed by a state insurance commission. Most companies put a clause in their policies saying it can't be reviewed by a judge. Some states, including Colorado, have laws or regulations voiding those clauses. 2/5

That he commits impeachable offenses nearly daily is shocking but not surprising. We knew who he was when he was elected the 2nd time. What's truly unnerving is each week that goes by without impeachment. Thoughts and prayers to the victims, survivors, and families of this crime spree.

Just like a toddler, he's pushing every boundary, testing every limit. When he gets away with something, he pushes farther. It's the nature of his 2-year-old psyche. Who's to blame? The parents. In this case, Congress, Courts, media, etc.

There is a fatal flaw in this decision. The Alabama primary is May 19. The deadline to file to be a candidate in the primary was January 23. The Supreme Court just broke Alabama elections. How can there be no way to dispute this illegal, unconstitutional, partisan ruling?
