Overall, we are seeing some very odd deal talks that are supposedly a part of ending the war in Ukraine. But in fact evidence shows these deals are structured (in the most recent case secretly until now) to financially benefit Russia or business partners of the Trump and Witkoff families.

Robert Reich tells us about this all the time but it’s hard to conceptualize, kind of like trying to visualize infinity. That is a stunning infographic.

Very lucky tonight to have @marklemley.bsky.social speaking at the University of Auckland on Copyright Issues in Generative AI on behalf of the NZCIP. Lots to think about as I rush home for twin bedtime. Including the utility of copyright for the taking of photographs as I walk down to the bus!

Relative got a $500 check from US Treasury and a shocking letter full of lies signed by Trump and ending with "May God bless you". Basically a pre-electoral bribe. News reports say they're sending almost a million of these. Full text in alt below. (I told him to cash it quick before it bounces.)

The centrist/non-partisan talking shops that have popped up lately like mushrooms are attacking the wrong thing. America isn't suffering from "polarization." It's suffering from right-wing radicalization against pluralism and democracy. Here's a great explainer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwW9...
