GM has made major layoffs throughout 2026. But its net profits for Q3 2026 rose 151% compared to a year ago. Its CEO was paid $30M in 2025 (333x more than the median employee). And GM is planning $20 billion in stock buybacks — the largest in US automaker history. Corporate greed in a nutshell.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

Judging by a quick look at Twitter, the right has decided just to pretend that Eric Schmitt did not, in fact, just shoot himself in the dick and that he totally owned Jack Smith.

As an American political historian, I can confirm that this Congress has been "almost unmatched in history" in several categories -- sad abdication of its war powers, craven surrender of the power of the purse, weird refusal to conduct meaningful oversight, and an utter failure to pass actual laws.

Mike Johnson claims that the current Congress is "probably in the top three or four of all time" and is "almost unmatched in history" 🙃

Dementia Don is bragging about the "strongest economy in history" because preliminary figures show that the US economy added 160,000 jobs last month. FYI from reality: During the Biden Administration, the US added an average of over 330,000 jobs a month for four years straight.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Why do people in national media, such as Jen Psaki tonight on MSNOW, act like Rahm Emanuel would be a legit option for president? Here in Chicago, we recall his administration's cover-up of the police murder of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald as well as many other reasons to say no fucking way to Rahm.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

This is unacceptable—but it’s also insufficient to *merely* call it unacceptable. It takes an act of absolute fucking gall—bordering on clinical malignant narcissism—to think you deserve to be a leader of others when you’ve done *zero* work to prepare yourself for the responsibility. Shame on her.
