Heights finally matter in Smoke and Steel! They affect line of sight, targeting, and, of perhaps more importantly, combat results. Please, think twice before charging uphill ;) #gamedev #indiedev

New scenarios call for new features! โ„๏ธ Introducing blizzards for the Battle of Narva. Still a work in progress! #gamedev #indiedev #smokeandsteel

Just as fun as it is to make the game itself, is reading up on and using historical references. Two of my biggest hobbies perfectly aligned #gamedev #indiedev

On this day in 1708, the Battle of Lesnaya cost Sweden vital supplies intended for Charles XII's army. What if those supplies had made it through? ๐Ÿค” In the Smoke and Steel story campaign, you'll be able to explore how the Great Northern War might have unfolded differently. #gamedev #indiedev

1,500 wishlists for Smoke and Steel! I never got around to celebrating 1,000 because it went by so quickly. Thank you all! To celebrate, I've shared a closer look at the grand campaign, from regions and taxes to supply lines: store.steampowered.com/news/app/414... #gamedev #indiedev

Reworking combat in Smoke and Steel to put more emphasis on linear warfare. Here, Swedish troops break through the Danish line. It's really hard to tell from a short video though. #gamedev #indiedev

The year is 1700. War is on the horizon. A sneak peek at the upcoming Smoke and Steel gameplay trailer! I'm developing this turn-based strategy game solo, combining nation management with tactical battles across early 18th-century Europe. #gamedev #indiedev

As more regions are added to the grand campaign, I think I'll need to redesign the borders to make them clearer ๐Ÿ‘€ #gamedev #indiedev

What do y'all think about using cards to represent actions, instead of say, ability buttons? I've heard from a fellow gamedev friend that Steam players are generally against it? #gaming #gamedev #indiedev

What do you think, too many regions? This is just southern Sweden, all of Sweden (at the time!) amounts up to 30 or so regions. Afraid it will be too much to handle for the player. #gamedev #indiedev #wargamiNG

Could be the best feeling when people like playing what you've been creating for so long. Yesterday we had a 1.5h 2v2 PvP battle, and it was fun. #gamedev #indiedev

The right one might look more coherent, but the left takes less screenspace. The flag is not really vital information, its purpose is really more decorative ๐Ÿค”

Been a while since I posted anything, this one is short but hopefully useful for someone out there! #GameDev

Is your custom logging system in #unity3d being bloated with extra call stacks and clicks not leading you to the right line of code? Have a look at this! #GameDev #IndieDev www.thungsten.com/article/4/pr...

Unpopular #GameDev opinion that you actually believe? ๐Ÿค” I'll go first: Most games don't need procedural generation, in fact it can make the game seem "cheap" if it's too big a part of the whole effort. Your turn #IndieDev
