My first five TTRPGs in order 1. Vampire the Masquerade 2nd edition 2. Star Wars (West End Games) 3. MechWarrior (FASA) 4. Cross Splat WoD game (I was playing a Shadow Lord ) 5. Mage the Ascension 2nd Edition

My first five TTRPGs in order 1. A mishmash of editions of D&D available at department stores and used book shops in the mid 90s 2. Bushido 3. Beyond the Supernatural 4. GURPS (one steampunk campaign, one monster hunting campaign and one short lived adaptation of After the Bomb) 5. 3rd edition D&D

You have to believe the imaginary scientists. I think it's a law or something.

4 out 5 imaginary ttrpg scientists agree that back The Decay makes you cooler, smarter, and more attractive. I don't know why I made up a scientist who disagrees with me. I'll have to imagine more scientists to look into it. #ttrpg #rpg #horror #halloween www.kickstarter.com/projects/cof...

Your character sheet says your mage uses Tarot. Okay. What do they actually do with the cards? Shuffle? Meditate? Calculate? Tell a story? Enter trance? Ask a spirit? Mage gets much more interesting when Instruments become verbs.

Whelp, that's like half of the collection 😒

Finding a new home for my husband's TTRPG book collection that fell off his headboard and hit me in the face at a very inopportune time early this morning.

Look at this sweet game from @atlasgames.bsky.social: Ars Magica Definitive Edition, with a cloth map of Mythic Europe! Mark and I put everything we had into this game, and I guess that's why it has such legs. "A fantasy RPG for gamers who are tired of fantasy RPGs" is what we called it in 1987.

You cannot design away bad players in a tabletop rpg. You cannot build enough guard rails to stop bad faith play. The only rule that helps is, "Play With Better People." Because those guard rails suck for every good faith player that has to bump into them, design for the people who WANT to PLAY.

🎉 Finale Celebration Livestream! 🎉 To celebrate this history making Kickstarter @felicia.day will be streaming live on Twitch. There's going to be a lot of weird shit. Music, dancers, weapon masters, a juggler, a falconer, an escape artist, a fire eater - we're closing this Kickstarter out in style.

As a parent, I don't enjoy events where I'm required to hang out with other parents. And it's because I don't want to talk to them about parenting, the ONE thing we have in common, because one of them will spout some thin cover nonsense for "Kids are property", and I am not allowed to punch them.

i really wish "children are people and people are not property" was not a radical opinion but unfortunately it's the central question up for debate with much of politics

I'll throw my hat out there to #Whitewolf that I have the unique mix of experiences to unfuck Mage. I've written for MageRev, consulted on M20, worked on both editions of Awakening, and worked for their IP holders and licensees from 1999 on. And I know where I screwed up. Hire me! Actually a bit srs

V6 flows narratively, has a pretty rough but likable framework, and is easy and fun to play. This is an edition I already like a lot.

Okay on to part 2 where I'm going to read through the Storyteller's Packet and give my live thoughts as I read. This one should be shorter. Again I really like where they're going with this game system already, it's mostly the meat around the bones that is pretty weak. Let's get on with it (1/??)

As a certified lover of all things vampire, I must tell my opinions on Vampire the Masquerade 6th Edition. I have heard a lot of skepticism about it, but I'm going to read the play test materials and live post my thoughts. I already say an AP at Gencon, and am already positive. (1/??)

Looking for the intersection of #TTRPGs and #crochetsky or #sewingsky . One of the stretch goals for PuppetRun is going to be including crochet and sewing patterns to make your own spooky puppets and I am looking for designers who are interested! Please get in touch if that’s you and share if not!

You can tell what decade someone came into the ttrpg hobby by how strongly they argue that it's the GMs job, not the rulebook, to teach people how to play the game.

I need to get off of reddit. The TTRPG subs are overrun with V6 drama, and the flagrant misinformation is exhausting. "I heard they're getting rid of Hunger Dice and Predator Types and Touchstones, and by that point, is it even Vampire???" Yes. Yes. Yes. There's NEW systems that do the SAME THING

The Decay launches on KS October 1st, but I'm going to be doing some fun things ahead of it. 1) Fresh Decay is going to be a free preview zine that will contain the FULL system with an open license for 3rd party creators. 2) We will run a game jam using said license during October as well.

After playtesting and iterating for 2 years, The Decay has gotten to the point where it is comfortable and effortless to run, and intuitive on the player side as well. I can't wait to share this with all of you. Follow on KS to join in. #ttrpg #horror www.kickstarter.com/projects/cof...

A couple ideas: 1) Describe it with your damn words. 2) Set aside the actual time you need to do your prep. 3) Don't do a stupid fucking eye spy puzzle in your game session.

"I'm entitled to whatever I want whenever I want it for any reason and I don't care what satisfying these urges does to me or the world" well okay dude, seems like there's something deeper going on here, but that's just my take

The new vampire the masquerade playtest feels like a departure… Which is good. When requiem 2e is still the best version of the game you kind of need to try something different than what V5 did. Call me intrigued.

In Vampire: the Masquerade, vampires can gain the powers of other vampires by drinking their blood and souls, a process known as diablerie. In the Nintendo games, beloved pink sphere Kirby likewise gains the powers of his enemies by eating them. implying Kirby is a diablerist. In this essay I will
