We keep telling the government - we don't want automated robo-debt, or data centres everywhere, or aged-care assessment by algorithm, or non-professional NDIS decisions. Employ real people. Pay real wages. Fix hospitals & schools. Tax the squillionaires & giant companies. Can't be any clearer.

Penny Allman-Payne@pennyallmanpayne.com

Older people have been saying this for months. Labor's automation of aged care assessments has been a disaster, under-assessing need and priority, denying care and driving up waitlists. It's past time to bin the whole thing and put humans back in charge of decision-making.

fascinating. In lower courts, the wheels of “justice” criminalise people born in poverty at around two minutes per matter, with collateral consequences for a lifetime, screened out of tenancy applications, jobs, the legal economy. But this guy. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

The critical defining feature of violence in Australian society is that it is, almost entirely, male. Pointing fingers in every direction (media, social media, gaming, gambling, porn, politics, whatever) will achieve nothing if it isn't also accepted that the problem is fundamentally a male one.

This is an incredibly dangerous precedent and confirms all the dangers of AUKUS - wargaming Australia as the base for a US war with China - and us even paying for it. We need to end AUKUS before this becomes real.

Everyday, so many of us show up to protect our democracy, build a safer future for our kids & grandkids - & be our best selves. Helen Haines is the very essence of this commitment - as so many have said. Thoughts are very much with Helen, her family & community. #auspol

I can’t believe someone would intentionally want to hurt Helen Haines. She is always respectful of others views, respected across the Parliament and community and a glowing example of how an MP should represent her electorate. Our thoughts are with Helen and her family.

These stories are shitting me. Card fees are just a business cost. You add up all your business costs, fixed and variable. You decide on a fair profit margin and set your prices accordingly. The customer pays the price on the price list. 1/2
