Is it just me, or should the very first announcement when there's a heatwave be: we are shutting down the data centers to prioritize residential power until there's less stress on the grid. Not : set your thermostat to an uncomfortable temperature so that the data centers can still suck power.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday. It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.

Omg. WTF is Happening?@lalahaenzy.bsky.social

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

Dental floss as a potential vaccine delivery system? "To test this idea, Gill and colleagues at Texas Tech University had to do something no scientist had done before: Try to floss a mouse. It was a “quite difficult” two-person job, Gill says..." 👀 🐁

EXCLUSIVE @science.org: In an unorthodox approach to needle-free vaccines, researchers have developed a special kind of floss that can protect against infectious disease. “The results are quite impressive.” Cool story by @annikainampudi.bsky.social

The governing party of the United States is shutting down the federal government to cover-up evidence the president sexually abused children so he can continue trying to implement dictatorship. That's just a true statement about the world!

You are up to date.
