Vivek Ramaswamy has been a horrible person in public for so long that until a friend reminded me, I totally forgot that I wrote a letter to the editor blasting his opposition to a living wage for campus workers more than *two decades ago*

Obviously Musk throttling Starlink in Ukraine to hinder their defense is huge, yeah, absolutely keep talking about it and the risks of relying on Starlink. But am I going crazy in thinking this is a pattern and not an escalation? Did he not already do something like this to Ukraine in 2023?

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

the Vice President of the United States has gone on record citing this man as one of his biggest intellectual influences if you didn't know this, it's probably because for some reason literally no mainstream political media outlets think it's worth mentioning

Makes me wonder how much AI is involved in generating Juno content TBH ... this is the sort of writing error that LLMs make all the time

Daniel Robson@dancollen.bsky.social

Despite publishing over 30 pieces about the Tumbler Ridge shooting, far-right blog Juno News appears to be somewhat unfamiliar with the shooter's name. Juno said yesterday Jesse Van Rootselaar was Jesse Strang's accomplice James Cody Bryant. (Van Rootselaar is Strang, the shooter's, legal name.)

It's also just straight up confusing and leads to public misinformation. I'm sifting through a bunch of reports that claim Bryant is a "transgender man" ... which is just factually untrue.

Every time you call a trans woman a man—even if the woman in question is very bad person!—you are telling every other trans person that you don't see them for who they are. That their identity is negotiable or temporary.

Writing about the Tumbler Ridge arrest today, and I'm honestly appalled at the level of intentional misgendering from officials and media. To be clear, I don't care if the suspect is offended. This isn't even about pronoun policing. But this sort of stuff is what spreads anti-trans hate at large.

Seems like if you're going to make a national story out of Hasan Piker, who campaigned a few times with the Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan, saying Israel causes antisemitism, you should also make a national story out of the favorite intellectual of the US Vice President supporting Hitler.

Tucker has peddled white supremacist, antidemocratic, eugenicist, sexist, and utterly fascist ideas for many, many years, and the moment he starts offering the fascist feint that just gets memory-holed, which I think says a lot about the people who are willing and eager to go along with this.

This is absolutely deranged: Months before murdering 6 people and injuring 27 more, ChatGPT told the teen school shooter in Tumbler Ridge, BC that using a Remington 870 pump-action shotgun is “brutal” in a “hallway, indoors or a crowded classroom” because “close quarters” is that gun’s “playground”

Pseudonymous writing is fine, but "Daniel" presented EXTREMELY vague bios as an antisemitism, national security, counterterrorism expert throughout his opinions. Every journalist friend I shared his info with came to the same conclusion as me. It's wild it took this long for an editor to as well.

If you're a reporter covering this, feel free to reach out. i might have cached some old articles. I'm not aware of anyone who figured it out before me though I am CERTAIN other researchers I just didn't talk to did. The laziness was pretty glaring! policyoptions.irpp.org/2026/09/dani...

There is no more evidence that 8% of Canadians oppose ethnic cleansing that ~0% do. But one of Canada's biggest newspapers thinks there's value in publishing an argument hinging on that fictional stat, which their author made up for the sake of writing the article.
