Soldiers gave HIV to wives and girlfirends, and those "extended" the problem to their newborns. Once a newborn was HIV+ a single vaccine would contaminate the syringe used for vaccines etc at the hospital, passing the virus from one to another. That went on for years.

So, you know that in the past gasoline had lead, right ? Then somebody found out that DuPont tetramethyllead was a bit of an hazard (down to Gen-X we're all poisoned with lead). Unleaded fuel was the "fix", with MBTE being the alternative. That's what those russian factories *WERE* producing.

Interesting thing to know: leaded fuel poison catalytic converters at a chemical level, soooo russians are going to kill their cars that will stop with a "check engine" light once the catalyst has been successfully killed by lead.
