A video summary from our recent paper in @commsbio.nature.com. Here we provide the clearest indication yet of how close spawning corals need to be for successful reproduction. We used a manipulative experimental design and genetic paternity assignment approaches to match embryos to their parents.

A field experiment shows that in situ #coral larval settlement is enhanced by engineered habitats and living microbial coatings, while a potential contribution of acoustic enrichment is identified, supporting integrated strategies for reef restoration 🪸🌊 @scrippsocean.bsky.social
