Second, independent testing capabilities need to be expanded. Federal government testing should be complemented by qualified third-party testing to create a testing ecosystem that can keep pace with AI’s rapid advancement.

Finally, the federal government must move aggressively on defensive AI. By establishing standards and supporting the development of defensive AI tools, AI-enabled threats can be detected and patched more rapidly. These tools should be widely available.

Now is not the time to pass regulations that increase what Americans pay at the pump. Yet that's exactly what NHTSA's own analysis says this rollback of fuel economy standards will do—leading to American families paying thousands more in gas.

A year after Republicans eliminated $1.1 billion in funding for public broadcasting communities across the nation have less access to local news and emergency information. In WA alone, KWSU-TV closed, and Cascade PBS cut 17 employees and stopped producing local journalism.

In WA, KWSU-TV closed, & Cascade PBS cut 17 employees & stopped producing local journalism — all after Republicans eliminated $1.1B in funding for public broadcasting. One year later, communities across the nation simply have less access to local news & emergency information.

One year ago, Republicans eliminated $1.1B in public media funding. After 50+ years the Corporation for Public Broadcasting closed. The damage: 500+ employees laid off, stations shuttered & rural communities losing their only source of local news & emergency alerts.

Hurricane Hunters don't only track hurricanes, they also collect critical data on atmospheric rivers that cause severe flooding and landslides across the Pacific Northwest. That means improved storm predictions and more accurate warnings for our communities.

NOAA's Hurricane Hunters collect vital data from inside dangerous storms, but much of the fleet is over 50 years old. That’s why the bipart Hurricane Hunter Aircraft Recapitalization Act will modernize the aging fleet and codify the mission in federal law.
