Woah, seems like our little project is hitting the big leagues. We just noticed a big jump in our waitlist signups and we want to help move things along in screening waitlist members and get a better sense of what people want from comail. Sign up for an onboarding call and skip the list!

Fix is live and we are monitoring the results, let us know if you have any issues!

We've temporarily paused delivery to Outlook, Hotmail, Live, and other Microsoft-hosted email addresses while we resolve a deliverability issue. Other providers are unaffected. We’re working to restore delivery as soon as possible.

Update: we have mitigated the issue and restored delivery to Microsoft-hosted addresses. We're still monitoring closely to ensure everything is healthy. Please let us know if you experience any issues sending.

Super excited to share that @goose.art is building Comail with me now! He made our logo (Cammie) and has been part of this journey since day one, so I'm glad to bring him onto the team. Lots of news soon!

yes yes, we’ll do the email!

There should be small internet shops and solopreneurs that build websites using the Atmosphere as their CMS. What status updates from the business right on your website? Bluesky post. Songform text on standard.site. Yada and yada and more yada. Oh and Comail for sure

I finally took the time to ditch SendGrid and migrate the @cartridge.dev PDS to using @comail.at. It was /ridiculously easy/ and I highly recommend it. Simple, purpose-built interface, and integrating into the PDS is easy. Big fan. 🥰 #atproto

You can do the very same, today!

zat@zat.dev

pds.zat.dev now uses @comail.at for account verification emails :) see details: tangled.org/zat.dev/zds/...

The best write-up of what it actually takes to host your own email (by @anil.recoil.org). Worth reading even if you never plan to do it yourself!

Anil Madhavapeddy@anil.recoil.org

How we've hosted our email "the hard way", by registering our own IPv4 block allocation with RIPE and then going through everything involved in receiving, delivering and accessing email on the modern public Internet. anil.recoil.org/notes/recoil... with @nick.recoil.org and @gazagnaire.org

Holy shit that's cool. I'm not enough of an email head to be 100% sure I understand the comail concept but IIUC... this is awesome actually?

bryan newbold@bnewbold.net

I was a bit skeptical of the "DNS records synchronized with atproto records" concept at first, but @comail.at has a cool demo where they can configure email for a domain (MX, DKIM, SPF, etc) just by writing records. other tools (goat?) could do the same for lexicon resolution 🧐

Okay, so the @margin.at doc includes the `target`, so we could build jetstream listeners that listen for margin records where the target is a @pckt.blog or a @leaflet.pub and etc, and then use @comail.at to send an email to the owner of the post that someone left a margin comment.

Nate Spilman@natespilman.at

I’d love it if I got a notification is someone created a @margin.at comment on a @standard.site post that I own. That’d be a sick integration. That also doesn’t feel super difficult to implement, assuming the margin record includes sufficient info to link it back to the page owner.

I can attest that this was done entirely for me when I setup my new domain. It was awesome.

It’s never been easier to go from 0 -> your own domain -> your user’s inbox, try it out for yourself!
