It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

i've observed this SO much at work, and in open source to some extent. AI-generated text is both very dense and at the same time lacks coherent narrative structure. i've been trying to learn how to be a better writer this year, so i've felt the decline in understandable writing even more.

what makes claudish different from human text? we're getting real psycholinguistic research! idea is that models are optimizing for information density rather than human understanding. consequences flow from that. i think i buy it. arxiv.org/abs/2610.29162

you'd think i work at gitlab, so i knew about the 10.0 vulnerability and would've upgraded my personal gitlab server as soon as the fix is released no i forgot about it and was scrambling to upgrade just now

alternative title: french people when corruption vs russians when corruption. very interesting how both former bloc hegemons have somewhat developed similar political apathy towards corruption and other socioeconomic injustices, although yes it's obviously worse in russia.
