i know everyone has been dying for my take on emily wilson's review of nolan's odyssey and so here it is. it should be an embarrassment to whoever edited it. when a writer files copy like that, you should know how controversial it will be and go above and beyond to help them shore up their take.

The first privately developed U.S. nuclear enrichment facility is going to be built in Paducah, Kentucky at the site of a former nuclear fuel plant. The US government is now allowing a private citizen to enrich uranium, aka nuclear bombs. That private citizen is "destroy humanity" Peter Thiel.

Okay so I heard this story a half dozen times on Twitter about a civil rights activist who became a Marxist after an FBI agent grilled him on Marx so he decided to look the guy up— I didn't realize until this moment that was Zohran Mamdani's father. Amazing

Virgil Abt@abtnatural.bsky.social

Incredible scene. FBI: Do you like Marx? Mhmood Mamdani: I haven’t met him. FBI: No, no, he’s dead. MM: Wow, what happened? FBI: No, no, he died long ago. ... He wrote that poor people should not be poor. MM: Sounds amazing. www.warscapes.com/conversation...

it's important this go as viral as the original story for morale purposes if nothing else. despite the image they project these people are NOT unaccountable. consequences CAN be forced. focused anger and outrage MATTERS.

Really cool job just came across my desk: Project Description The Wildlife Division wants to develop a single data management system to collect data, track, and report on the numerous species, Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs)/Refuges,

and operations programs managed by the division. The DMS for Wildlife Division will convert the DMAP (Deer Management Assistance Program) system as well as establish an efficient relational structure for wildlife management area, forestry, wildlife disease, deer, . . .

black bear, resident small game, turkey, and waterfowl data sets. The current process of recording data spreadsheets. There is an existing DMAP system that will be replaced with this project. Ping if interested and I'll dig up the contact.

Just got taken by the BEST April Fool's prank: My workplace has been using Mercurial for code management for a while, which has some frustrations, and has long been talking about moving to git.

4/6 It only worked because he is a very well respected, diligent, effective director and developer, who often goes above and beyond, and will sometimes make big announcement for good tool changes.

Up late thinking how beautiful our world is, and how fragile. How tenuous our connection to each other and to what really makes our country great. It’s hard to sleep tonight. My country is in crisis, the world is in upheaval. People are frightened. And yet there is also beauty, laughter, work…🧵🪡
