How does the brain integrate multiple attributes into a choice? Using EEG, eye-tracking, and cognitive modelling, Jordan, Romy and Sebastian uncover neural signatures of hierarchical value integration. Check out the thread below πŸ‘‡

πŸ“£ NEW PREPRINT ALERT! πŸ“£ πŸ“Preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... When choosing between options with multiple attributes, what does the brain actually compare - individual attributes or integrated option values? We combined EEG + eye-tracking to find out... and found evidence for the latter 🧠

We had three extremely inspiring days coming together with a group of people who all think about #effort at our Effort Mini-(Un-)conference in Hamburg: discussing lots of open questions, sharing new ideas, thinking together about the challenges our field is facing, and having a great time! πŸ§ πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ΄

Last week, we had our 2nd lab retreat at Schloss Basthorst! 2.5 days, 16 scientific sessions, German herbs, a boat tour, and lots of good company and team-building.🌿🍡🚀 Grateful to our amazing team for all the effort, ideas, and energy they brought along! A little glimpse of our retreat.☺️

Difficult decisions take time, but can we keep all accumulated evidence in mind long enough to make better choices? We find that working-memory limitations constrain decision-making, and these effects are modulated by dopamine. biorxiv.org/content/10.6... bioRxiv out with Cina Aghamohammadi et al.
