Cloud 9 | Gotham FC Supporters

Today, and every day, we stand with supporters groups across the NWSL to say - loud and clear: Trans People Belong. In the stands, on the pitch, in our communities - everywhere. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and celebrated. No exceptions. #TransPeopleBelong

TY to everyone who sent me tips, info, and statements for this one — www.portlandmercury.com/sports/thorn...

See youse next week! No pressure!

Y’all means all isn’t just a slogan for us. It means we are a welcoming, inclusive community to everyone.  We stand with the @rosecityriveters.org, the transgender and LGBTQ+ community — hate has no place in women’s soccer, or anywhere.  If you come for one, you can expect us all.

Meredith Speck’s impact at Gotham FC stretches beyond her minutes. Her influence is reinforcing the club's culture — and shaped Olivia Wingate's deadline-day decision to join the Bats. Wingate: "She was the first one who I reached out to." Full story ⬇️ southwardcentral.com/gotham-fc/me...

Anyone interested in two tickets I have for @womensgamemib.bsky.social show in NYC Nov 3? @cloud9goth.bsky.social

Loved seeing our @cloud9goth.bsky.social friends, and thankful to those who donated to our fundraiser for @ayudadmv.bsky.social 🫡🫡

Last night’s incident was egregious and we are working behind the scenes to zealously advocate for protection for our member/capo and seek as severe repercussions as possible for those responsible.

What transpired last night, with one of our leaders being attacked, is an absolute all time low. This community has so much potential for good but the inconsistency in its treat and protection of black and brown fans makes us question why we’re even here. It has to be better than this.

Today is the 5 year anniversary of players pausing play in protest against sexual misconduct & the league's handling of misconduct. This show of solidarity & courage would lead to many of the systemic changes in the NWSL. A moment that also serves as a reminder of the need to keep speaking out ❤️

Gotham FC midfielder Jaelin Howell has been called up by the #USWNT after Man City midfielder Sam Coffey has been ruled out for the upcoming matches against Spain due to injury.

#GFCvLA NWSL Availability Report Gotham FC OUT: Sofia Cook (Lower Leg), Jordynn Dudley (Foot), Kayla Duran (Knee - SEI), Emily Sonnett (Knee - SEI) Angel City FC OUT: Jun Endo (SEI - Knee), Hina Sugita (SEI - Knee)

Five years ago, a summer of scandals brought the NWSL to a halt. The players banded together to get back on the field on their own terms.

Five years ago in the middle of a reckoning over abuse and misconduct, the players of the NWSL were debating if they should save the league or burn it down. They picked both. On the last five years, free to read at @theathletic.com www.nytimes.com/athletic/764...

Ended up with two extra tickets to @womensgamemib.bsky.social live in NYC by being impulsive! Anyone from @cloud9goth.bsky.social need tickets?

I love @cloud9goth.bsky.social! #NWSL #GFCvCHI

I missed this but there is no scenario where it makes sense to blame a player for their hair being too long after it gets pulled by an opponent. Just asinine.

Again, I’m not a commentator, have never done live comms (either PbP or colour), and I know it’s a very particular job but it’s also a job that *can* be done without any snide racism. You’re blaming the player who suffered a clear red card foul, do a thousand times better.

We want to thank the BWPC for always looking out for the players and particularly for their show of support for Jordynn after the last match. The league, officials, and broadcast partners need to do better.

NEW: Sports reporting is shrinking. But at ProPublica, we’re diving in. We won’t cover the games, but we’ll be keeping score — of which powerful people are winning, of who’s being hurt and of which systems can be held accountable.
