I really don't know clouds at all. As seen in (a very brief quote in) The New Yorker. She/her. Sapphic bi. Trans rights are human rights, black lives matter, the first Pride was a riot. Enjoy the cornfield and cute, sexy narcolepsy.

I mean, so much shit? Gay marriage is legal, medicine has advanced leaps and bounds, food is better, computers are wildly better, video games have been improved... Just in the smallest and least consequential part, a Transformer used to be a brick in both modes and now they look like this!

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

The final line of Iron Man - Tony Stark going completely off-script and saying "I am Iron Man" - was improvised by Robert Downey Jr. because he felt it was appropriate. On a related note, they had Sam Jack signed up for the cameo as Nick Fury but had no contract to secure him moving forward.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

like sure if you want to advertise that you’d rather suck Elon Musk’s toes by going back to X, since you prefer that to doing the absolute bare minimum to resist a genocidal CSAM peddler’s rise to power, you sure are free to do that

Tim Sweeney, personally. After him, we take it from Phil Spencer. Once he's tapped, Tommy Talarico. Trust me, I got a list.

let's grant that $30K is life-changing money if we also grant that we want to avoid charging new parents that amount for prenatal/natal care, whose life should change by removing that 30K in services from their income or reimbursement? I'm fine with it being someone, but we need to be honest!

A good habit to get into is realizing that no matter how clever, how correct, or how pointed your jokes might be, there is a swath of people for whom you can either argue with or disengage from. Those are your choices. And for most people - definitely myself - the latter is a better choice.

I can point out, in detail, how incredibly stupid it is for a given person to make claims that have no basis in reality, but I cannot persuade them. Nothing is going to change their mind. My choice is between arguing with them or just blocking and moving on, no matter how many expert burns I have.

Okay so we *rightly* called Newsom scum for inviting Bannon on his podcast, surely a sitting Democratic Senator attending an actual event with Bannon is going to elicit the same level of contempt and shunning, right?

primaries are finally over. labor day has come and gone. there is no such thing as a protest vote. you are not "teaching anyone "a lesson" by staying home. we need to end a cruel, stupid, and dangerous disaster and our only chance is voting for every Democrat on your ballot. that's it. that's all.

Gotta new heist planned. Wanted to let you in on the ground floor. We're hitting this Arby's. Never been hit before. It has really bad foot traffic, awful reviews, nothing of value. But it's never been hit before, so maybe that matters.

Dana's a smart one, and I feel like this is central to understanding what "disagreeing in good faith" vs. "being hopelessly contrarian" actually means. You can disagree with conclusions without invalidating the (real and genuine) premises that lead to them!

I also wish people who disagree with me would engage with my point. It’s not wrong. It’s a valid thing to be worried about. You can disagree with me without going “nuh uh, shut up, you’re stupid.”

Rhio tells the truth, but you're probably being a dick for asking. Why? It would be impolite to speculate on the reasons behind your failings.

#wolqotd When asked their age, how does your WoL/OC respond? Truthfully? Dodge the question? Lie? Have they been 26 for the last 9 years?
