congrats to the team! i am absolutely in love with Zed 💖

Zed@zed.dev

We've shipped more than a thousand versions of Zed, but all of them began with zero. Today, that changes. zed.dev/blog/zed-1-0

migrated to @eurosky.social migration itself went smoothly, but everything around it is a nightmare of codes not working and verifications not verifying. i was finally able to log back in but i cannot change my password 👌

So it begins. We won't have to wait long until executives come knocking on the doors of engineers asking "so... that Claude Code licence we gave you and forced you to use, going so far as to track your token use... how valuable is it REALLY?" gizmodo.com/anthropic-is...

Partial blame to Microsoft and Zoom for normalizing the need to install new software just to make video calls, despite browsers being perfectly capable. They make it extra hard to even find the web-only links. simonwillison.net/2026/Apr/3/s...

I spent 2 months learning about quantization and am extremely proud of the post I've written about it. I think these are some of the nicest visuals I've ever made, and I love how this compression technique invented in 1898 is being used on the bleeding edge in 2026. ngrok.com/blog/quantiz...

i can natively require typescript from cjs in node but i am blocked by jest being an embarrassing piece of crap. fuck jest

i deleted my facebook account about 10 years ago. what the fuck were all those tech people doing in the meanwhile? if i look at it now it looks exactly the same like???

DOOM fully rendered in CSS. Every surface is a <div> that has a background image, with a clipping path with 3D transforms applied. Of course CSS does not have a movable camera, so we rotate and translate the scene around the user.

One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.

I vibe coded a 3D rendering of our cabinet configurator while gaming on a thursday night. shipped it to prod the monday after. many iterations and refactorings involved, but as a threejs noob i would not have attempted this. crazy times

btw just wrapped a 2 weeks migration from @vuejs.org 2.7 to 3 at Cutr. Mostly to switch form libraries. Enjoyable experience, 3 years in the making, dream come true.

Sure, lots of stories about how much agentic AI sucks, but plenty of cases where it's genuinely saved time and energy. Such as, uh. Well, for example, ahh, hang on

”What’s wrong with build tools? Other languages are compiled!” Yes, but their compiler is official and always there. The #JS ecosystem has devolved into a state where abstraction, the most fundamental software engineering concept, has been outsourced to third party tooling. *That’s* the problem.

Node excitement 😉 Congrats to @marcoippolito.dev on making it official: type-stripping in Node 25 is now declared to be stable 🎉 You can run: node index.ts The capabilities have not changed since Node 24. This is purely a maturity indicator.
