Ugh! Just spent an hour trying to figure out why I couldn’t draw. Apparently the new Wacom driver won’t work with my older Cintiq. I had to delete it and reinstall an older driver. Now I’m worried about updating my computer….

Hi #portfolioday! I'm Claire, an illustrator and author. I love creating stories and books that have humor and heart. I'm interested in working on picture books, board books, early readers, & graphic novels. Let's work on something fun together! I'm represented by my amazing agent @mccarthylit.com

I'm rereading a few pieces I wrote in college to use as examples of my history in an upcoming presentation for tweens. I honestly can't remember most of the pieces I wrote. Honestly? They're quite good. I can't believe I wrote them!

Update! Hugo's biopsy results came back and he does not have cancer!! Unfortunately, he's still sick, but we know what's going on. He will be on medication for about a year and should live a normal lifespan. BEST NEWS EVER!

Claire Lordon - Illustrator, Designer, & Author@clairelordon.com

I still need names for all the dog characters. If you have suggestions please share them below. I'm also thinking of adding more dog characters in the future. And please hug your furry friends ❤️ Hugo has a biopsy tomorrow so we will know how to best approach things.

If you are familiar with my work you may remember the comics I have created of my dog Hugo . I have been working on this new project and while it's not fully complete I wanted to post it now.

If you are familiar with my work you may remember the comics I have created of my dog Hugo . I have been working on this new project and while it's not fully complete I wanted to post it now.

Last week I received news that Hugo most likely has cancer and doesn't have much time left to live. He's only six years old and my best friend. I started this project but haven't posted it yet because I wanted to have more to be ready to post, but finished is better than it sitting on my computer.

This project is inspired of my love for all things cute, and was specifically inspired by sumikko gurashi and Bluey. I'm imagining it as a series of short stories celebrating love, friendship, and dogs.

I'm excited to announce a redesign of my website www.clairelordon.com! I realized that my old website was very minimal and lacking in personality. The rebranding took more time than I anticipated, but I'm very pleased with the outcome. It now feels more like an extension of myself and my artwork⭐ 🧡

1) Love this art style! I had no idea the whole book is like this. I’ve read Captain Underpants (also amazing) and love how this really looks like how kids draw. I definitely see my younger comic making self in this art style.

2) how did I make the mistake before reading the book that the vertical lines between the chin and shirt aren’t beard stubble, but stitches?!? Clearly I think too logically like an adult and always thought it was interesting that Dog Man had some stubble.
