I’ve had this topic on my mind for a while. Can’t wait to give this talk and experience @swiftsonicconf.bsky.social !

“We’ll handle accessibility later” is like learning the bridge after the show starts. @chriswu.com riffs on accessibility at Swiftsonic: quick wins we can use and how to prompt agents to build accessible experiences from the first note. See him LIVE: swiftsonicconf.com

Nailed it. 100%.

I've seen everyone sharing that US Dialect Quiz so I decided to make my own, much crappier, CANADIAN DIALECT QUIZ to guess where in Canada you're from

First thing I wanted for Swiftsonic was a set list, not an agenda. That’s why we have Openers and Headliners. The day builds: fresh voices, deep experience, practical Swift and iOS stories. Nashville · Nov 20–22 🎟️ swiftsonicconf.com

I gave the app to my teenager and told him to “build a play”. This is actually pretty good! Lots to fix, but it’s coming along. #shipaton #buildinpublic

Finally updated ShapeUp to 1.0.0! Create corners using relative anchor points, apply corner styles, move/rotate/scale/mirror them with ease, add notches along any edge, and wrap them in a CornerShape that is automatically insettable and animatable. #SwiftUI #iOSDev github.com/ryanlintott/...

EXCITING (nerve-racking 😭) NEWS. MY FIRST APP EVER JUST GOT APPROVED AND IT'S NOW LIVE!!! (In the US, Canada, and UK for now, because I had no idea what I was doing!) ENDLESS NERVOUSNESS, but I have so many people to thank for this. Made it just in time for #Shipaton Day 4 of 60! #BuildInPublic

Jace pulled as much out of #SwiftRockies as possible, and is an absolute delight! A great write up of a really special conference in Calgary.

Yesterday, easing into #Shipaton Day 2 of 60 by taking some time to write. Weekends are designated off days and tougher to get stuff done, but did a write-up of my experience at #SwiftRockies! :) (Wow I must have been exhausted because I have no idea why I said it was Aug 8 in my last post)

I’m out for a walk with the dog, and Siri reads this message to me. The pronunciation of the first word rhymed with “shiv”. This has never been a problem before.

Okay folks, tomorrow is a day to watch if your a sicko like me and cheer for statistical possibilities. If Canada wins their group, their most likely opponent (by a thin margin) is Egypt. But that could change tomorrow in the Group G games of Belgium vs Iran and New Zealand vs Egypt.

WheatNOil@wheatnoil.bsky.social

Via The Athletic calculator: If Canada loses G3, 77% chance they play South Korea. Win or Draw G3, most likely opponents are Egypt (21%), Algeria (19%), Austria (13%). 5 other teams between 5-10%. 7 teams between 1-5% None of the game today have a significant impact on the most likely opponents.

Really exciting detail from the WWDC Platform State of the Union yesterday; Xcode Cloud builders are now on Apple Silicon, so are 2x faster, and can run Metal.

I'm about to say something I haven't said in 8 years: I'm looking for a full-time job. I'm looking for the right role with the right people and the right mission, all of which I've laid out in this blog post. I'm mostly interested in something new, so if this sounds like your team I'd love to talk.

fabisevi.chOpen To WorkI won't bury the lede, I'm looking to go back to work full-time. I'm thankful to not be under financial strain, so I'm not rushing into anything. Instead I'm coming at this from a place of genuine int...

Podcasts.app has the worst kind of bug imaginable; when I start a new episode, the sound randomly cuts out (as though buffering), except that it DOESN’T PAUSE! So it goes quiet for 15 seconds, and then comes back in a different spot, as though nothing happened. Maddening. Inexcusable.

You know a book has really left an impression on you when you’re reading something else, and you find yourself searching: what was Robert Moses was up to in the same time period? #thepowerbroker

Hard agree with Neven. If you haven’t seen Hundreds Of Beavers, it’s on Prime in 🇨🇦. Interestingly, the creators wanted it to feel like a video game. Watch it, and you’ll understand.

Re: "improved visual fidelity in games," all I can say is that I want feature movies to be less "realistic," not for videogames to be more so. The most aesthetically exciting thing I've seen in a decade looks like this:

Hey mark your calendars and get ready to come to Calgary for Swift Rockies. You have three guesses what I will be talking about. The first two guesses are free. ;-) A practitioner-focused iOS developer conference at the Calgary Zoo. July 15-16, 2026. (TBD: workshops July 14, 2026) swiftrockies.com

The joke’s on Google here, basically 95% of my inbox is ad emails for products I already purchased and don’t need more of. Really useful training set there.
