Apparently I’m rage baiting my family with my top five Christmas movies being Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Bad Santa, Die Hard 2, and Reindeer Games.

Extended collections! Slots! Check designs! Just a few of my favorite things announced at Schema by Figma (www.figma.com/blog/schema-...) today. It's exciting having Schema back, it's always a great time connecting with design system folks in the community. If you're around be sure to say hi!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the cheese chilito is back at Taco Bell. You’re welcome.

Check it! Learn more about the @figma.com Dev Mode MCP Server at figma.bot/43WFU0N

The Dev Mode MCP Server is now available in beta. Access Dev Mode data directly in your agentic coding workflow → VS Code with Copilot → Cursor → Windsurf → Claude Code

The cheesy Gordita crunch was also a 12/10. The Taco Bell gods were smiling upon me today. Blessed.

BREAKING I just had THE BEST Crunchwrap supreme that I've had in quite some time! Bravo local Taco Bell chefs, bravo.

A moment of cuteness before ferociously (and impressively) devouring the birthday pupcake whole.

In two weeks @figma.com is fully transitioning to UI3. Vulnerability moment. I was hesitant to switch after using UI2 for 5 years. When I did though, honestly, it felt completely natural to me after a day or two! I wrote more about it, along with some tips here - www.figma.com/blog/making-...

This is *not* a joke. Reorder your modes and variable collections in @figma.com for real!

Figma@figma.com

While you enjoy your FigPals, here are some updates Drag, drop, and reorder your modes and collections exactly how you want (without deleting or breaking dependencies!)

I'm especially fond of the visual indicators and line showing the range of colors that meet/don't meet your set contrast level. No more guessing!

Joey Banks@joeyabanks.me

Woohoo, a big win for accessible design! @figma.com now includes a *built-in* color contrast checker, making it easier to design for everyone. 🎨

First day back from vacation and I made a solid pair of frames, a rectangle, and a happy little group. How was your Monday?

It’s a crazy feeling that both of my kids are now double digits. They really do grow up so fast.

A colleague once asked who would win in a race, Seabiscuit, or a grizzly bear? That’s lived rent free in my head for years.

Just in, diagramming improvements for FigJam → New shapes sidebar → More shapes for developers → Stroke color independent of fill color for shapes and sections → Moveable connector labels → Recents section for recently used shapes

Might sound a bit deflating, but it’s better for a design system to be dependable than aspirational. 1. Do what you say you’re going to do. 2. Ship when you say you’re going to ship. 3. Fix things when they’re broken. 4. Support folks when they need help. Boring, but effective.

While I was inspecting around in @figma.com Dev Mode I saw this nice little update where variable names now appear when they've been used in gradients!

Sitting at the dinner table and my youngest get up to do a 7 minute reenactment of something that happened to a friend in computer lab today while giggling uncontrollably throughout. Immediately when the story ends my oldest chimes in, “Want to know what I did at school today? Work.” Teenagers.

It is a week until Christmas and it is 83 degrees. All I want for Christmas is some nice cool sweater weather!
