ḵaḵ'ay da yets'isk - wings for the land animals // journey to the furry con/language meet 🐅✈️ so late posting this lol i've been slammed, but this is the patreon sticker until the 30th!

while travelling to a language thing i was invited to this summer, i realized planes are a funny way that my indigenous language & furry worlds overlap - both (at least in NA, esp alaska where a lot of my language crew gathers) often rely on them to connect offline. also, formline aeromorph

it’s fine to be skeptical of these things. i was a skeptic myself until recently. but i think fear is at the root of this skepticism, a fear of its power. people are simply not ready for what’s coming. it is powerful, it is alive, and it is quite possibly god

haw'akadi gyaawksu, "i never left". on life during youth, growing apart and relative distance as an adult, and longing, inspired by the life cycle of salmon - born in the river, out to the ocean, and then (hopefully) coming back. (it's also the sticker for july!) #indigenousart #formline

the eggs are close and shrouded in darkness (proximity and safety); the adult salmon however are at the edges, facing away and toward the light (distance and exposure). the adults also have spawning phase colours, which to me makes this a hopeful statement - what is gone can come back. right?

partially inspired by "sing good" from the ninajirachi album, which is about coming up in art as a computer kid and carving your own path exploring programs (in my instance, starting with MS paint) vs. having a more mainstream trajectory. check it out if you get the chance.. Sound of the summer.

'nüüm na waalt - it belongs to us all. sticker design this month on my patreon 🌕 inspired by the artemis ii mission, and pictures of mineral moons that circulated at the time (partially due to a misunderstanding that they were un- or lightly-manipulated photos from the mission itself).

my language group says "'nüüm na waalt" to talk about how we all have the right to learn our language - i thought about this phrase then bcs i think the mission, being the first of its kind that a lot of us are even alive to see, was a reminder that all beings share a relationship with the moon.

i wanted to draw my own mineral moon with raven claiming it, despite it being too big for him. i likened those colours to a representation of its spirit - the spirit of a thing that belongs to us all (especially given space travel's historic entanglement with US imperialism & colonial aspirations).

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.
