and there's the vibe killer. landlord wants to deduct costs from my deposit because of some things that haven't been done. i haven't got the energy to fight them on it because they royally sucked from the start and i'm done. it's not a huge cut but i won't tell my family as they'll be on me about it

the consolation: when i paid for a deep clean at the house before my last one, it cost more than what's been quoted for this one so it was cheaper to do a basic clean and tidy up than if I'd paid someone to do it lolol what a wild world we live in.

At the office today and had to go into town to get a birthday present for my sister and it was... pleasant? Not too many people around, had a generally nice atmosphere and ambience. Made me feel good.

I usually feel that closer to Christmas when the spirit is in fuller flow but it wasn't even that this time. I'm grateful because I usually hate it in town and have to put my headphones on but not today.

the buzz I used to get in 2019 when I'd just started learning Python and couldn't figure a thing out after hours of work and the next day it was like "oh yeah!" and I did it. I miss it.

i don't know anybody at game freak but i'm pretty sure they aren't sweating over vibe coded ROM hacks or any of the many revisits/remasters/recomps/rewhatevered versions of gen 1–4 games when they can re-release them and get millions of copies sold like that

i use duolingo and i know it's not great in many ways and i should use a different app but i'm not in a financial/confidence space to do use a better service or speak to someone in person. maybe one day (see also: going back to the gym which is definitely just a money thing!!)

I think it says a lot that I did a 180 on the two gens I'd disliked the most after playing them again in 720p (and revisiting them years later with a more mature mind)

It's funny when people explain how the shiny odds ACTUALLY work (ty for your service!) but when they get like a sub-100 shiny, they'll be like “the universe has given me this luck and now they will restore balance by making my next shiny so over odds that I'll wonder if they shiny locked everything”
