It’s naive to think midterms & 2028 elections will be fair. This regime’s actions are not those of one that plans to run in a democratic election ever again. Investigate the election security and integrity issues the US already experienced in 2024. That is the way to oust this fascist regime.

BREAKING: We're challenging the DOJ’s attempt to preemptively block Alaska from certifying their election results if President Trump’s preferred candidate doesn't win.   The Trump administration doesn't get to reject election results it doesn't like.

The American Dream is amazing: within just a few years you can go from being the child of Cuban immigrants to the great-grandson of Spanish settlers.

Funny how Marco Rubio tries to differentiate himself from all the other children of recent immigrants who are now getting removed from the country by the master he now serves. Rubio, you see, is a descendent of *the West*

Chalk up a new low for the party of family values.

I half-way joked about this the other day. I’m only surprised they aren’t charging for it.

Especially since he claims in the story he was only vaguely aware of the things people were saying about Haitians in Springfield online. If he was spreading that slander himself, that seems real relevant

Holy shit. The corruption of this government is horrific.

I don’t remember anyone giving Jerome Powell a check for $100 million. Who gave it to Kevin Warsh, days before he was confirmed and why?

Not the action of a regime with nothing to hide.

The Trump administration’s decision not to invite the leading international election observation body to monitor US midterms fuels fears of serious election-related human rights concerns. This is the first time the US has declined to invite in OSCE monitors since they began observing US elections.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $8 trillion. The entire bottom 50% of American households is worth just $4.27 trillion. Read that back. Remember: Wealth can’t be separated from power. Power begets wealth and wealth begets power.

I have a trade deficit with woman who used to own my house. I paid her thousands of dollars for her home and she paid me nothing. Now, all I have is a house worth thousand of dollars. I could have saved those thousands of dollars if I lived on a bench in the park. It's just simple Economics.

Heather Cox Richardson just stole my quip! I’m flattered.

Nice fine arts venue you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it. Better put my name back up on it or it might be bankrupt by Tuesday.

The downside is… Billionaires probably taste bitter with a tough stringy texture. I’m guessing we could live with that trade off.

From a former Secretary of Labor: (And while we’re at it, provide access to healthcare for everyone regardless of employment status.)

This Labor Day (and all other days): Thank the workers who serve you. Appreciate the workers who care for you. Respect the workers who pick up your trash. Salute the workers who get you your mail. Honor the workers who teach your children. Pay all workers a living wage.

NEW FROM ME: On a hellish third-country removal flight last month, passengers say ICE-contracted guards got drunk, teased and beat them, tied them up, refused to let them use the lavatory. One says he witnessed an ICE agent admit to illegal chain refoulement. prospect.org/2026/08/31/w...

Maybe he should build a data center instead of a ballroom where the historic East Wing stood, since he thinks they’re so wonderful and important.

We are rapidly devolving into a dystopian state. ICE is ordering $2 MIL worth of robot dogs that can open doors, track people and see 360 degrees.

Everything else has been the distraction. The murders, mass deportation, the hate mongering, the war…this was the plan all along. America First. What a sick joke.

Is the US so lawless that the Supreme Court decision on Trump’s tariffs isn’t even part of the discussion about the trade with Canada? I’m genuinely confused about why this isn’t even mentioned in the press.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

The U.S. owes $40 trillion in debt. Everyone has an opinion about why. But there’s one question you almost never hear asked: Who’s actually getting paid?

Gas prices are up 24.6% from a year ago and still significantly higher than they were before the Iran War. Meanwhile, the world's 8 biggest oil companies have made a $93B profit windfall in just the last three months. Big Oil is raking it in as the world burns — and we're paying for it.

I cannot get over the fact that AI explainers say it will do boring repetitive tasks but the cool examples they share are “here’s how to outsource your humanity.” What will be a longer term benefit for everyone: listening to a podcast or parents and kids talking about their friends/activities?

If you’re watching Fauci’s testimony remember that science isn’t an ideology. It doesn’t lie. It evolves. COVID-19 was a once-in-a-century pandemic caused by a brand-new virus, recommendations changed because the evidence changed. That’s not deception. That’s how it works.
