Just some kinda guy like this. Hilarious in person, just don't have the heart of a poster. Disability justice, trans rights, sci-fi, linguistics, I don't know. I'm interested in things. I'm not a real doctor but

“In the classroom, [educator Ebony Webster] has noticed students asking for more food, or for leftovers of a friend’s meal. Sometimes the free school meals are the only ones students get, she said… With SNAP access decreasing, she has seen an increase in community need for food pantries.”

Been thinking this morning about a political party which wants to allow or not allow minority members to have lives depending on which state you're in. They're not making that decision based on the number of queers in the state, but the number of bigots. Clear statement the bigots are more important

mcc@dryad.technology

I promise the Democrats that there are queers in Iowa

Honestly, when we were in the dorms checking out behind the scenes pics of the filming on ain't it cool in the year 2000... I felt like "wow my entire life has led up to this moment"

Was not prepared for this at the checkout line: “25 Years on Film” 🫠

ever scream out against an injustice with such fury that you partially phased into another dimension? (her brother was in the basket she wanted to sleep in)

Apropos of nothing, when I was testing the audiometer at school today I checked that my ears are old and yeah 😢 theyms old.

I tested someone whose ears are VERY unold and she simply did not care to raise her hand every time she heard a beep. Sometimes she would just say something like, "Can you say that again?"

When people say they like my shirt (it's a GOOD shirt actually) I ask if they know who it is and so far nobody. I have not--I HAVE NOT--thereafter tried to give someone my obsession.

One of my coworkers said she was giving it a try and I think my reaction might have been like a "oh maybe Casey IS autistic" moment for her. She hasn't brought it up again though rip 😞

But I have had to be honest with myself about my terrible taste for decades now. I don't go out there thinking the way *I* feel about something is an indication of its quality. You guys should (not) SEE some of the stuff I love.

I made 1 person read it because he's legally in my married to me so he has to read/watch a quota of things like it or not. I recommended it to exactly one other person. I bought a shirt. I am on I think my fourth go-through total when you tally reading and audio together. I'm fucked up about it.

POLLS ARE BULLSHIT!! TURNOUT IS REAL!!

Andrea Grimes@andreagrimes.com

I will say this again and again until election day: Polls are bullshit, turnout is real. I want to believe in Blexas (h/t @katelynburns.com who always cheerleads me on this) but we only get there if we get every last person we know who supports Texas D's to the polls.

I have actually gotten a lot of ads for Ball 2 for months. I don't know what they pitched on shark tank but it looked embarrassing on facebook

I will say that if it has Mr Beasts face on it then probably some of them will sell, but surely not...a lot ....

To be fair, some of this is the North American funding model for schools. Those should be funded at the state/province level and have a dedicated “police tax” instead and see what the boomers say about it

Hm. It sucks actually though because I don't want to see a sad fish while I browse. I want to see my cat snuggling me. Idk maybe I should take a snuggle picture where I am wearing a baseball cap

I cannot believe I was 18 years old when I met the fishbird. I guess my parents hadn't moved all my shit into storage that summer yet? Maybe I only had the fishbird at school? I was sure it was on my high school wall of crap but clearly it was not.

I have known the fishbird at the most like 8 months longer than the domestic octopus. That's bananas it's crazy how things before I met Josh are like this fossilized record of Casey Prime to me.

If you knew me way back when, you may have seen my fishbird, a hybrid creature that appeared on a cover of a news magazine that my dad was subscribed to. I was pretty sure it was the economist. But I just browsed through an archive of economist covers and I couldn't find it. However...

Okay but whatever archive I have of my lj isn't going to have image files. Damn. It's not in my facebook, which makes sense because Facebook isn't old enough. You know it might be in an old folder on my desktop

I have found images of the fishbird online in the past. I am not currently able to find it. I wonder if I can find a file of it on my old livejournal?

the view of the world and the economy that the AI companies are pushing is functionally an end to large parts of the economic value of telecommunications. It's basically, we go back to doing as much business as possible in person, because anything done not in person is choked with spam.

Man two adults asked me what I meant by "photocopy" today and I didn't think that was an old person word, at least not at an elementary school, but??? OH but it might be because this is a xerox town so everyone used the name brand I remember now I already thought of this explanation this morning
