AI!

AI in real life. One grocery shopping agent using claude in chrome to build a basket both from amazon grocery and wholefoods. burning tokens to get that $3 "discount".

still, pushing in a screenshot to get to a full basket is fun.

Took my car to service. I wasn't expecting "improper assembly" for a brand that has the iron mark as its logo. Quoting: Inspected rear underside of vehicle and found ERAD motor to have multiple loose bolts along with leaking ERAD fluid. Verified improper assembly of ERAD.

Not sure which one is amusing. The fact that they have this in the form or the ai catching it.

While not a Knuth-level problem (www-cs-faculty.stanford.edu/%7Eknuth/pap...) AI was able to infer a non-readable passport stamp by ruling out some date ranges by cross-referencing my immigration status history using a set of separate documents in the same repo. color me impressed.

being said that another issue in the same session made me question some of its findings. I think I'll accept the following solution, quoting AI:

<quote> Stamp-only dates are being independently re-verified right now — three background agents are re-reading every dated stamp in the three passport scans directly from the PDFs, blind to the existing transcripts and ledgers so they can't inherit the old misreads.

I keep md versions of all my document scans which includes all us immigration history.

@volvo-cars.bsky.social complaint time. why pressing 🔓 driver door doesn't release the charger but 🔒 followed by 🔓 does? This is one example of many annoyances. Another big one is how the key fob based profile switching works once in a blue moon.

anytime I reset the computer it switches back from pure to hybrid. I am ignoring the fact that I need to reset is every week because random issues like turn signal sounds doesn't work or the screen brightness is so low that it is practically impossible to read anything during day time

@ssg.dev I remember you posting about @kagi.com news. their RSS feed plays VERY nice with reeder. It takes a bit of setup (add couple of rss feeds manually compared to a private feed) but it gives this "in the morning I am reading my newspaper" feel on a tablet.

On the phone, I like using reeder for consumption, including bluesky. I bookmark couple of things and I can get back to them on the desktop.

A nice side effect is that I can setup screen time limits on the app which curbs my doom scrolling habit.

It has a legacy version which works more like an email app., which I used for many years, but I like this new take better.
