“how dare you say that the people who dehumanize others deserve to be treated as pariahs” i don’t know how to explain to you that internalizing your own dehumanization and making that a fundamental part of who you are is habituating bad morals and that society cannot tolerate intolerance writ large.

if you spend your life hurting others because of your own unacknowledged pain it’s still your moral responsibility to tend to the obligations of repair you have necessitated. one can be a victim and a perpetrator. in fact, many perps WERE victims. the fact remains: you are the one called to act.

a good society produces freedom when the moral-relational field stabilizes around three central tenets: truthful memory, consideration for others, and the wherewithal to stand for truth in the face of domination. when we enable malicious actors to go unchecked, we lessen all our overall freedoms.

democrats love to force marginalized peoples to vote for their oppressors. they know that no one would enable the people harming them willingly. so they make people consent to their own domination. it’s all a display of liberals’ social coercive power.

I think people intuitively understand that democratic candidates tossing trans kids to the wolves is not only morally repugnant but also politically ineffective, otherwise they wouldn't freak out every time someone said they weren't voting for a democrat who did this

what’s with this revitalized obsession with asking “do you disavow [X group]?” they’ve done it with communists, al queda, ISIS, the houthis, hamas, and now this. what’s the actual point? i don’t go around asking republicans if they’ll disavow nazism — even though the answer is no. so why ask?
