Hi! I'm Caaz. I make games, shaders, and websites! I'm looking for work, and in my spare time I like diving into interesting problems and projects! You can find more about me on my site at caaz.me

Anyone know where I can find skeleton references for marine animals (or others, anything helps)? Hoping to get a few viewpoints so that I can model one accurately (though now that I'm thinking of it I don't need to be that accurate, just not spirit halloween level wrong)

I'm 95% done with implementation for 8omp! Let's do a #screenshotsaturday with this little tech demo reel showing the main mechanics that'll be included. Getting the perfect loops for these gifs is one of my favorite things to do... just don't ask me how many tries this one took 😅 #pico8

I love little tutorials that break things down into steps because you can kinda follow them to make a shader, following the rules laid out. Not the perfect star implementation or anything, but it's really fun! #godot #shader #gamedev #space #indiedev

I could just like, stare at every single pixel here on loop forever there is so much detail and fluidity and I am blown away

This is so very worth diving into! Pico8 is a blast and I am so excited to jump into picotron I may just not sleep aaaa

I also want Vertical Slice to evolve beyond the confines of a traditional paper. That's why I'm launching The Repository, a growing (free) collection of pitch decks and design docs donated by generous contributors including @kitfoxgames.com, @outersloth.com, and @outerloopgames.bsky.social.

Today I learned how sky shaders interact with directional lights in Godot. It would be crazy if I had a reason to do this #godot #gamdev #shader

hey everyone here is a brand new totally free CC0 font for your collection please enjoy :) 12px height, contains latin extended, latin supplemental, gender symbols, maths symbols, cyrillic, runic, and probably more not-jam.itch.io/not-jam-seri...

Last night I learned how sky shaders work. This is going to massively up my gamedev skills #indiegamedev #godot #shader #space

I had done a review on it when I was younger and stupider, and looking back, I was probably too harsh. Game reviews are hard, and now that I've built a bajillion half projects, I can really appreciate the attention to detail, animations, and gameplay elements I never even noticed back then.

As an aside being online since I was like 10 means there are so many examples of me being younger and stupider online please don't google me I am a big idiot who is constantly changing

#FallingBlockJam 2026 entry coming along! I've been trying to figure out a good scoring system, and while time feels like the obvious choice, it doesn't feel very good. It's a bit tricky to plan once there's a lot of pieces on the board. #gamedev #feedbackwanted

If you're an artist keep learning, practicing & creating. A bunch of people who have no clue how anything works will tell you to give up, you suck, you'll be replaced etc. These are societal pressures artists have always faced, learn to build resilience. You'll be alright.

Day two of #FallingBlockJam 2026 and I think I've got an interesting proof of concept! Trying to match the spaghetti theme with spaghetti code!

Every time I try to learn about Blender's Geometry Nodes I feel like I need to drink. Like, not alcohol, but... gasoline, maybe?

Been playing around with my terrain rendering shader in Godot (the same one on my pinned post!) Updated it so that the normals can be inferred from the heightmap alone, so now I can use noise textures for world generation! #gamedev #indiedev #shader #godot

I love seeing people pop up in my notifications and I go to their account and it's just full of whimsy. Games with ridiculous premises, we need more of this! It feels like everything moving towards "realism" in terms of graphics and themes, but I still really love to see the whimsical and absurd!

Thank you to all that helped out here! I've wound up writing a really basic license, but it covers the things I care about for now! Hopefully it covers the things users care about too! caaz.me/font-license/

I've got a comment on this requesting a license, and I feel I'm a bit out of my depth here regarding font licensing. Does anyone have any good resources for existing licenses or any recommendations for writing my own? Basically, I don't care what it's used for if you buy it, just don't redistribute!

We're only 86/150 full for this starter pack! Lots of really cool creators in the pack, artists, gamedevs, authors, and musicians! This is a grab bag of people who make things, let me know if you'd like to be added! It's not gamedev-specific, that just happens to be the circle I reach!

Posted this and proceeded to have quite a busy day, so I shall get to responding and adding people as soon as I can tomorrow cause I am sleepy.

Seeing stuff like this and WQON's site is really making me remember that websites used to be cool as hell and I should really redesign my own with some cool features and good art

My site is very minimal, feature first, not much effort was made for good design and it shows. I've never really considered myself much of a frontend developer, but through gamedev I've picked up many artistic skills so maybe it's worth revisiting that.

Managed to finally get an evening of #gamedev on #RivalRacer in! Mostly just fixes right now to the handling right now and aside from some minor things, it alredy feels nice. I also put in a new test track with some test textures I did

Alright, my pixel art gothic font Decree is now out! I spent quite a bit of time refining it today and I think I'm happy with it! The funds from this font will go directly to the development of Godscrown! Can't afford the $2? Feel free to reach out! #pixelart #gamedev #font #art

Anyway here's what it looks like on a track by people who know how to make tracks. Also tuned the camera and floating a bit better #Godot #gamedev #indiedev

So I started messing around with this idea again for a drift-heavy floating car thing. Spent a bit of time playing around with the feel of it and it's way more controllable than my earlier attempts when learning Godot.

Antigravity thing is a bit rough, but that's partly due to the massive CSG donut, partly due to me needing to smooth out the camera a bit. Haven't spent a lot of time messing with that at all

Anyway menus up and here's how it looks in the actual use case!

Well little toddler-proof storybook project coming along fine, I just gotta work out some menus for selecting stories and populate the pages with some data.

Been making toddler-proof game-things using godot. One is basically an ABC powerpoint with each letter being spoken (and a way to replay the sound) And the next one plays story book videos (with input disabled til it's done) I wonder if there's a market for this kind of thing.

Double reposted because I wanted to add that my projects aren't dead, just resting.
