And I have submitted a new build to Apple with much improved Voice Over controls. Hopefully the user likes the changes.

Got the first bit of feedback on my new #iOS game and it was from a blind user. They gave some feedback of how it could be more friendly in voice over mode and I’ve already got about 2/3 of their recommendations in place now.

I submitted a new app to the App Store and it took over 3 days to be reviewed but an update to another app took 4 hours? Make it make sense…

I should probably tag more stuff with hashtags if I want them to show up in feeds to get any sort of users and feedback on stuff huh…

Alright now to focus on the app I am actually really excited to ship…

Yesterday's event: literally one of the secret keys underpinning internet security was the number 4. Apply your security updates! bsky.app/profile/swtc...

The details are now public, as of two hours ago. bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi... The secret P-384 keys for these intermediate CAs are all zeros except the last 8 bits. All not-updated software can be MITM'ed now. IOT boxes that can't or don't update are now trivially MITM'able forever.

If you make HTTPS requests or have other TLS clients and care about MITM attacks, you need to update today. If you run Go: go get go@1.27.3 If you run Homebrew: brew update brew install ca-certificates If you run Linux, maybe stay off the internet for now.

🚨 Six WebPKI Intermediate CAs are compromised. This is bigger than Heartbleed, but a client-side issue. Anything that verifies certificates against public roots, like most TLS clients, is/was affected. Details, live test, patched versions and workarounds at emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com Act now.

I am really excited about this next app I am working on. I think it could be really fun to play if enough people actually install it in each person’s circle.

Google Play Console is garbage compared to App Store Connect and that is saying something. Apple is at least somewhat clear in most of their communication. Google: “ready to publish” means you submitted for review 🤔

I’m trying to quickly prepare for a couple of Candela Obscura sessions and re-reading/fully reading the rulebook. I really like it but find it odd that so much of the Lore stuff come before the “running the game” section. I guess a player could/should care about the lore is why?

Probably because we sing this every time we get in the car just like the Belchers.

The iPhone Duo sim makes me feel like it is going to be a terrible launch experience even for apps that are supporting it from the get go. So many weird layout issues happen as you open/close. It doesn’t report the right size; it seems to shift safe areas significantly as you change how open it is.

It is always nice when the app name you want is available on the App Store 😄

Just finished getting my 3 apps up on the AppStore updated for the Duo and submitted for review! 🔥

I really wish Xcode would respect the Package.resolved more instead of just ignoring it half the time…

That moment your co-worker force pushes changes to your branch without communicating with you at all 😡

Love seeing job advertisements that say “native mobile” then you look inside and it says RN 🙃 such a joke

Added my app to review last night then said, oh I’ll start work on this feature a coworker asked for. Ya it took me like 1.5 hours is all to implement m4b support so now I’m debating do I pull my app out of review and just send it as well. I feel like it is a yes since it was another easy win

"You must spend money to make money" said Frog. "But, you must also spend money to have no money left" replied Toad. "That is true" said Frog.

It is always nice chatting with a co-worker and not feeling like you are crazy afterwards because you have the same complaints and concerns.

Shopify posted about how they are moving back to native thanks to AI. I had a similar experience lately with doing a task that I wanted to test on iOS and Android. It worked out great. I wrote the iOS code with Claude and it was high quality and then it ported good code over to Android.

I definitely think the will be a common way for apps to be developed moving forward. Especially because you get all the benefits of being fully native with little extra work.

Is it even worth replying to that review, probably but I don’t know what to say that isn’t going to be sarcastic at the moment.

Whelp got my first 1 star review on an app I made myself… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sorry I let you fully test and use my app before asking for any money to import more books?

I should probably update my resume in general… The question is how do I put that I’ve suffered through react native for a year and mostly pivoted during that year to backend. I want to focus on iOS still but I sure as hell don’t want to do more react native or have people try to convincing me on it.

Wow not cool… blaming me for not having a thing when I sent it to you the day before…

Always fun when you co-worker is anxiously awaiting your work and when you send it over 1 minute after they ask for it again and they go AFK for like 30+ minutes…

Was all excited for my first trail subscription and it was immediately followed with an unsubscribe 😞 maybe they will still like it and resubscribe or purchase it…

Apparently I made a mistake in introducing my boys to Palworld because now they just fight over who gets to play on the PS5…

I swear my children are more concerned about having 3 meals called breakfast, lunch, and dinner than they are with actually being full…

The POC I’ve been working on is blazing fast on iOS thanks to Metal. On a cheap Android device it is so slow… It takes 3+x the time of a recording to process things… I really need to get hardware acceleration with the GPU working for it but even google is meh on their GPU support for Android…

Why does Apple have 65gigs of simulator backups in /System/Library/AssetsV2 which is a SIP protected folder! 😡 In all my years doing iOS development I’ve never had it show up as a place of eating a bunch of storage… This has been extra painful with work only giving me a 500gb HD

Just had Claude basically tell me, “if the owner of this library is small you can either bully them or ignore them and use the software as closed source anyways” 😬 yikes

Anyways I found a library that I’m pretty sure does what I want with a bit more work but it is Apache 2 instead of EUPL.

Google hasn’t added any on device LLM stuff like Apple!?!? Foundation Models is so nice for basic LLM tasks. I guess the time has come to cross the hugging face boundary and get that working on iOS and Android once I get whisper.cop fully working.

Just now seeing I can add animations to my load calls… How did I miss this before? It will be so nice to go update stuff to use that and get free animations.

This week we showed off just how short and succinct our query builder can be. Need a single query that filters all/business/personal trips and sorts by trip end date, start date or name? It all fits in just a few lines of code: www.pointfree.co/episodes/ep3...

I’m getting to play with on device AI stuff for work and it is so much fun getting to do native stuff again

Just had my first sale on my app that wasn’t friends or family. It pushed me over the threshold of have I spent or made money on my apple developer license this year for the first time. I’m not making tons of money obviously but it feels good to sort of break even for once.
