Most bookstores, at least where I live, require you to purchase something to use the toilet (the code to access the toilet is on the receipt). I think it’s this barrier to the toilet that causes this response. You’re in a situation where a toilet is not immediately available, your body panics.

You know how printers can sense fear? How when you approach a printer with stress, it always has problems? I think it’s the same with our bodies in situations where a toilet is not immediately accessible.

I was almost 10 years old when Obama was first elected. Watching media from this era, as an adult now, is wild. The cultural archetypes that Jack Donaghy and Liz Lemon each represent are completely extinct. Moderate Republicans are just no longer a group of people who exist in any meaningful way.

These people see a group of Deliveroo drivers chatting to each other in Arabic or Kurdish as they simply wait outside a restaurant to pick up their orders and get nervous. Or scream something awful at them. This is all racist brainrot and I am so tired of people like this being taken seriously.

The government of the country I was born in is shooting parents in front of their small children and bringing back public executions. None of this is normal. America was never perfect, I know exactly how we got here, but it is increasingly becoming a place that I just don’t recognise.

“If you don’t like public executions just don’t watch it” says the crowd trying to ban drag shows and books

All had handful of HUGE hits throughout the 2010s and the first few years of the 2020s, but somehow failed to truly solidify mainstream presence until THAT album. Tinashe and Charli are especially similar - both have either been writing for or inspiring other artists the whole time.

There was a period in time when, in my head, Diet Pepsi by Addison Rae was the #1 song in the world for weeks and weeks. This was not even close to reality (it apparently reached #10 in the UK for exactly one week and then radio swiftly moved on from it)

This post is unavailable.

I say this as someone who follows pop music and culture pretty actively - I have never heard that Sam Fender/Olivia Dean song beyond a snippet. I am completely fine being in my own particular taste bubble, actually.

Take this with a pinch of salt as both myself and my partner are white, but I must say the reputation of the Snobby Parisian is entirely unwarranted. Everyone we encountered was polite and kind to us, even though neither of us speak French. They are used to visitors!

This goes hand in hand with the lack of access to trans healthcare. It’s the same issue. Culture wars based on emotional sensationalism rather than actual evidence are dictating access to healthcare.

Apparently should NOT wax your face if you are on/close to your period, especially if you used a retinol product in the past few days. Your skin is at a higher risk of peeling off a bit. Anyway, I just learned this the hard way! Never knew there was a correlation. Fun :)

The world has enough heavy news, here's some light stuff: Scientists have confirmed the existence of a species of wild cats previously only known to locals of Bolivia. It is *smaller* than a house cat and its closest living relative diverged 1.4 million years ago. It's called a Tilcayo.

nationalgeographic.comMeet the First New Cat Species Discovered in 100 YearsA small, spotted tiger cat from Bolivia may just be the beginning of a wave of new small cat species.

Just had to endure some drunken junkie screaming and stomping as he repeatedly chanted “stop the boats” on the subway. We got off a stop earlier than we needed to and reported it to staff. These people are absolute wastes of oxygen and I genuinely wish the absolute worst for them

My unironic impression of what Ted Lasso is as someone who has never seen it
