Just a dude trying not to be problematic. I like cars, overlanding, hockey, gaming, ttrpg, and listening to other people's niche special interests.

Getting an MBA radicalized me to the left far more than any book or treatise. Chris Marquis is spot on with his critique.

Broke: Abolish ICE Woke: Abolish MBA www.nytimes.com/2026/10/18/o...

I centered my undergraduate and MBA around "sustainable business" and left the MBA program realizing business fully supports and incentivizes ethical misconduct. The only way to have an ethical business is to actively reject those incentives, which is hard for anyone to do.

Also, it's completely useless as a curriculum. I didn’t learn how to manage people, I didn't learn how to use soft power. I learned how to move money around and argue for the best offer letter. I use maybe 5% of it in work. But it basically doubled my income after getting those three letters.

Except he didn't fund it, I did, paying a much higher tax rate than the white supremacist. Those thrusters are SpaceX tech for which we—not him—have paid ~$31 billion. I paid for those cold gas thrusters and the software running them, and what I get in exchange is a short video and white supremacy.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Tesla owners dont want cars as cars, but as consumer electronics. So yeah give it a bunch of whistles. But the problem is cars are cars and dont just function for the benefit of the individual consumer but the public at large. Thats why he cant ever make a safe product.

Like I keep coming back to the fact that this car was supposed to come out in 2020 and they keep tacking on useless shit to distract the rubes who put down a $50,000 deposit that they stole their money.

Abusers always insist that holding them accountable for their own actions is unfair, a miscarriage of justice, and discrimination.

Latest WSJ poll: "63% want to pause AI development 61% want a billionaire wealth tax 59% want Medicare for All 57% want a $20 minimum wage 58% want to end U.S. military aid to Israel" This is the center of the country politically. it is time all adjust to this political spectrum, esp. media.

Norway has solution to this actually, stay at home parents can get their share of the public daycare subsidy as cash, that way parents are not pushed one way or the other. the problem of course is virtually no one on the center or right actually gives a shit about parents

"Making day care free, while offering nothing to stay-at-home parents, appeals to the educated, urban, affluent voters who have come to make up the Democratic base, but not to the electorate at large," Marc Novicoff argues:

For the life of me I don't know why dems aren't hammering republicans on the practical implications of a transgender sports ban. "Republicans want mandated genital inspections for minors" seems like it would resonate.

Like I get that you're ethically a coward and can't just say that trans rights are human rights and non-negotiable. But this seems like a slam dunk.

"Making education free, while offering nothing to private school parents, appeals to only a select group of people and not the electorate at large" Man, do you even read the words you spew out? The only people I know who can afford to be a stay at home parent are urban affluent voters.

Also, the whole "this solution Democrats have to a specific problem doesn't address this unrelated problem, therefore the solution is inherently flawed" shit is so old.

I would like to see more men talking about how to and peer pressuring each other into calling out misogyny and rape culture. Going against social norms is hard, and it helps to share tips and support.

One of the Cornell students accused of gang rape, Scott Kretzschmar, denies it and says through his attorney that they are going to “confront” the survivor through the court system. I can already tell you that means victim-blaming, DARVO, and smears. She is going to need a lot more of our support.

So this week we've learned: 1) The AI goons CONFESSED they were committing the biggest theft in history. 2) The data centers really are sucking up all the energy during an energy shock. 3) AI almost caused a World War.

Simon McGarr@tupped.bsky.social

Oh, this is a useful set of statistics. You can use it to assess just what sort of numbers of JOBS the Government means when it says we need the data centres in Ireland for the JOBS. You’d create more employment running a small chain of centras.

I just honestly can't get over that Save Women Sports, an anti-trans group could only find five trans athletes competing K through 12. Five. The NCAA president testified a year and a half ago or so that there were less than 10 college level trans athletes. What the fuck are we doing, people

Surprising fact: We are actually NOT seeing more food recalls this year compared with recent years. What we’re seeing is an increase in the number of illnesses caused by contaminated food. This is the largest ever cyclospora outbreak & third-largest foodborne illness outbreak of any kind on record.

This is a great thread and I think most people who don't live in the western US don't fully grasp how completely outdated and backward the rules are. It incentivizes farmers to use as much water as possible when there is very little water to go around.

When I got my MBA, the advisors were constantly teaching us how to advocate for better pay and earn more. Mathur being in an executive level for some time knows hiring people. This is absolutely taking advantage of young professionals who might not know better and she knows it.
