I own a bookstore in Bristol, UK. Mostly here for the sports, though.

I interviewed for a growth position at Revolut a couple of years ago. They asked if I had questions for them, I said yes. The HR person sighed deeply and said “so you’ve heard about us,” and that was a big enough 🚩 for me to decline the next interview.
the Revolut hack story is quite something www.ft.com/content/97f3...

@netw3rk.bsky.social re: the pod Everest story: I saw at least 5 guys have meltdowns because a porter in flip flops asked them to step aside so they could go past. They were furious that a poor kid in sandals could hike faster than them while carrying gear.

“Thousands of people telling me I suck made me $1,500” isn’t a brag (and probably explains social media brain)
With the IL-09 primary in its final hours, I’ve chose not to feed false narratives these past few days and instead enjoyed the engagement from Kat’s fans on my platform. Engagement is where my income comes from—so those comments coincidentally generated about $1,500.
The Planeteers have aged TERRIBLY
National Guard units are still wandering around DC, and as far as I can tell they do... nothing. But this morning I saw a group of four CamoKids walking down the street, and when they got to the corner they did a little formation, and I just thought it was the funniest thing.

When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946. In 2007, the US president was born in 1946. In 2017, the US president was born in 1946. And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.
I was just watching some of the Bill and Hillary deposition footage and its really striking/disturbing how much the Clintons clearly come off younger and in better shape than either of our two recent presidents.

While it made it as far as dress rehearsal, Tommy Brennan's Weekend Update desk bit on Trump's ICE deployments in his home state of Minnesota did not make it to SNL broadcast. But they've made it available anyway. And you should watch it.
Keir Starmer isn’t polling well because he’s governing like Sunak and BoJo. It’s not hard, Matt!
Keir Starmer was the model for centrists and popularists who insisted that moving right on issues, especially immigration, is how you win at politics. Wonder if there will ever be any self-reflection here! Ah well nevertheless
Loved this from Steve Kerr, and his appreciation for being a fading dynasty www.espn.co.uk/nba/story/_/...
There are a lot of benefits to moving to the UK from the US. Given my level of football consumption, not being subjected to this guy is one of biggest. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Not totally the point, but Matt saying “I advocate for modern dems doing what they’re already doing because they’re doing it” is some circular, sycophantic nonsense.
matt & co’s theory of how public opinion on immigration would respond to new information was simply empirically wrong. at this point the only reasonable conclusion is they refuse to update their priors w/ new data because the data is inconvenient for them www.gelliottmorris.com/p/the-cost-o...
