I have been busy updating my apps and starting new small projects, but I am very bad at telling people about it. I think I will make a thread per project and keep updating it with new information for time #androiddev #indiedev

while you port and emulate games, I ported Jira to my PSP

Replying to @p-y.wtf

The weak ref keeps surviving GC long after the activity is destroyed => leak. We unfortunately can't use reflection to fix this, the field is blacklisted... I really want to give an earful to whoever at Google decided to block reflection, it's SO STUPID.

yeah but the way out includes taking accountability for committing almost a century of systematic theft, ethnosupremacism, apartheid, illegal occupation, torture, rape, military brainwashing & genocide and given that this fascist faux-mocracy has only existed as such, that would be remarkable

I wish more apps put effort for this kind of UX polish ❤️

seb@sebastiano.dev

I saw someone doing this in SwiftUI and thought, surely this should be possible in Compose. And probably I can vibe code it in a couple prompt. It was more than a couple, but it sure was vibecodable :) Shared element transitions rock!

I don't know who Aaron Rowe is but based on this alone I can deduce that Aaron Rowe has more integrity in his pinky toe than a planet full of Ed Sheerans could gather together if they charged up a morality Spirit Bomb

The Irish musician Aaron Rowe has said he is withdrawing as a support act on Ed Sheeran’s tour.

As it turns September 11th here where I live, I commemorate the 2,997 victims murdered by the hijackers and what would be an estimated 5,000,000 victims murdered by the US's relentless slide into militarism, authoritarianism, fascism, and genocide that started that day. Each lost life was equal.

Two posts back to back: 1. Even before Israel was globally understood to be a genocidal ultra-fascist ethno-supremacist country, it was enforcing that rain water is Israel's property, prohibit8ny Palestinians from building ways of collecting potable water. www.snopes.com/news/2023/11...

You can also just ask. An on-device assistant can build a billboard for you: add and edit layers, set orientation, save it to your Collection. It obeys the same limits the app does, so nothing gets unlocked through the back door. 6/X🧵 #androiddev

It adapts. Two-pane editor on large landscape tablets and foldables. Fullscreen opens with a pull-down gesture from the preview. On extra-large screens Settings and About float over the editor instead of taking it over. 7/X🧵 #androiddev

Your signs now have somewhere to live. A Collection you curate and drag to reorder, plus a Recent trail that quietly saves whatever you show fullscreen. Nothing you make disappears because you forgot to save it. 4/X🧵 #androiddev

Signs are shareable. Send one as a .billboard file someone can open and edit, or as a flat PNG. Files people send you land straight in Recent. The share sheet shows a thumbnail so you know what you're sending. 5/X🧵 #androiddev

The whole app is built on layers now. Stack text, color and effects, then reorder and recombine them. A sign is no longer one line of text with a color behind it. It's a composition you can take apart and rebuild. 2/X🧵 #androiddev

Two editing modes, Basic and Advanced, kept as separate billboards. Each keeps its own layers and orientation. Editing one never touches the other, so you can keep a simple sign and an elaborate one side by side. 3/X🧵 #androiddev

There are two stories of the Israeli massacre in the West Bank town Tell, killing four Palestinians. One, of local townspeople, who say it was an unprovoked massacre in line with hundreds of others. The other, of the genocidal Israeli terrorists that brought heavy weapons to the massacre.

Honestly, with FIFA once again caving for Trump I'm done watching and talking World Cup 2026. The treatment of Iran, a country that was being bombed by Trump, was already too much - but allowing the US to field top scorer Balogun after a red card makes a mockery of the game, and of the Cup. Done.

This is horrifying and so important. Israel's continued massacres, child murder, genocide, forced starvation, concentration camps, targeted and structured destruction of life, and ethnic cleansing continues. It's easy to not see the full scale of this unparalleled evil. archivegenocide.com
