Holy crap I passed 900 followers, guess I should introduce myself! Hi! I'm Blue, a silly lil goober from England! I'm a 3D modeller with over a decade of experience, clocking in at over 12k hours in Blender so far, as well as a professional ball jointed doll maker and a Vtuber making hobbyist

my IRL birthday may have been 2 days ago, but 12 years ago today I made my first Blue Pixie account. The day this part of my life came to be Happy birthday Blue. You've changed my life in so many ways, and you truly gave my life purpose. Here's to many more years in the future

PSA: The latest NVIDIA App update adds a Default-ON option that allows AI Agents to control the app... Might want to turn it off.. Even aside from being lame AI features, that feels like making security even worse by defaulting it ON.

just found a recently reposted vtuber reaction of a video moonlight jewel and I worked on back in 2023..... zero credit, zero link back to the original video,,, and the thumbnail seems to have been run through ai..... 🫠 fucking hate this generation, hate this lifetime, fuck ai.

we both weren't feeling great about the speed of the original reaction getting posted and all the reposts back then.. They were posted so quickly that it tanked the original video and it performed really poorly because all the viewership was yoinked by the reaction The reaction got 3x the views ;-;

so to see that SAME reaction video be reposted again all these years later and STILL be able to perform okayish in 20 hours from a 4 month old account,, its just salt in the wound at this point and I wish they'd fucking credit. damn reposters

just found a 2026 bingo I made at the beginning of the year...... i did my best to make it reasonable..... I have done none of the things on it :)) (except the take a break boxes i put to actually make it easier to fill the board,,, ) rant in replies, feel free to ignore

i know ive done things, but theyre so few and far between, and so much less than what my ambition desires, that it *feels* like nothing. I want to be better, I want to do more. I wish my body was even just a tiny bit easier to handle..

but nope,,, instead i trial meds to make it better, and in return get side effects that trigger my ptsd, my phobias, and make me worse... i just want things to work in my favour for once.

this year has been rough for me.. spent the entire summer unable to work from the heat, have 2 weeks out of every month where having a uterus and cystic ovaries makes me unable to move and function,, and the weather shifts affecting my body in ways it never has before.. i feel like ive done nothing

I also didn't realise how big this doll was gonna be (because I forget that this doll is gonna be half my height) so in the end,, the lighter weight of FDM printing is far more reasonable of an option!! So I decided I'm gonna do my best to make it work in filament instead

It'll still be slow going, I don't always have the energy to commit to such big projects, but having such a big win in this way, has really reignited my motivation for this, so I hope I can make more progress on it soon!!

I halted the project, because I needed to test print the head mechanism I designed to be able to take Jowol's head off like his model, but I couldn't continue without knowing if that worked.. but I now have a filament printer.....

I originally didn't want to use it, I wanted the smoothness and almost porcelain-like effect I can get from resin printing, and don't have the hand strength to sand filament down smooth properly.. but I decided I was done waiting, and did it anyway for the test print. it worked!

🧵For why this took so long: Right after the hand prints, we had structural repairs done in my studio, so I had to box my printers up. Because of my health, I'm still slowly sorting that room out to make it a proper studio, and I currently have no ventilation for the resin.

the last few days I've been alone for the first time in years, so what do I do when I have no company or distractions? clean the multi-year old doom piles in my living room I guess I clean when I'm isolated and lonely?? smth productive I guess My body is killing me though. I ache so much

I'm proud of what I achieved, but wish I could do those things when people are around as well. but my brain actively seeks that companionship to *not* be alone, so I guess the cleaning is my brains way of distracting from the being alone part

I can finally gush about this amazing project I got to work on,, This is the project I injured my wrist for, the one I was struggling through nerve pain to get finished in time, THIS was it. Sculpting this doll was so much but I'm so proud of what Elisa and I were able to achieve 🥹

Reminder, if a game used GenAI at ANY level of the development process: DON'T FUCKIN' PLAY IT. Don't let it slide, don't give these corporate fucks an inch. They'll move the goalpost for every successful game that used the tech (i.e. Expedition 33, Arc Raiders.) and force it into more shit.

I am a chicken all the projects Id love to do, all the things I'd love to say "I'm available!!" for... Being disabled in a way that affects your ability to work and create, as a creative, is so discouraging. I hesitate every single time. I know I'd do a good job, I know I could do it..

I have never even worked out what prices I'd charge for these jobs. Because the energy I'd spend working that out, is not worth it if I'm gonna chicken out and not take on any jobs in the first place... I wish I could just make the models in my own time for fun and have that be financially viable

I also feel I have to give an apology for these threads. They seem to be the only things I post, and thats in part because writing out my feelings and sending them into the void is therapeutic in a way, like screaming at the top of your lungs I know they can be downers though, so I'm sorry for that

But could I keep up with a deadline? Could I fight the PDA telling me its now a demand and not something I chose to sign up for...? I'd communicate all my roadblocks, I do with my doll sculpting, I'd be so clear about when I needed to rest, I'd send so many WIPs, ppl might say its too many..
