You see this A LOT online because social media is largely run on outrage, cringe and overall negativity. Some people can't just ignore something "cringe" and move on because then they won't over 500k likes and views for making fun of/complaining about it

One of the biggest parts of truly becoming an adult is being able to see something you find cringe and think "ah this just isn't for me" and move on. So many people are still living in their 14 year old mindset as 20+ year olds
