It is shockingly common for child welfare agencies to remove children from parents because they can't afford housing. Billing them for the foster care really is just beyond the pale. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

thenation.com“Nobody Blames the Landlord. They Just Take Away the Kids.”All too often, when parents can’t afford safe housing, the solution child welfare services offer is putting their children in foster care.

In 2018, Annalinda Martinez and her daughters became homeless. She went to Georgia's child welfare agency looking for help finding housing. Instead, the state took her children. Then DFCS began charging her for their foster care. Those bills eventually left her $13,000 in debt.

Everyone on this website who was upset that people said they had never heard a Kendrick Lamar song when he performed at the Super Bowl is yelling they don't live in a bubble when confronted with the fact that they don't know any Ed Sheeran songs or the longest running #1 hit in America, ever, lmao.

Saw a video of the Migos AI trend but using Nolan Wells and his mother. Such overstepping, mindless behavior from strangers. Just gross. 😕

Man on the Inside (Ted Danson, Netflix) is the perfect cozy, low stakes mystery series. Thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and storylines.

The children yearn for digital community. lol

Just remember, that if you live long enough you will become disabled in some way or another. Vision or hearing loss, back pain making it hard to play with your kids, knees hurting when you have to climb stairs, new food allergies that make it impossible to eat food you dont cook, fatigue, falling..

AI is unpopular. The public overwhelmingly supports aggressive AI regulation; it overwhelmingly opposes further investment in AI infrastructure. Naturally, Dems are telling frontline members to ̶d̶o̶ ̶p̶o̶p̶u̶l̶a̶r̶i̶s̶m̶ curl into the fetal position to appease the mean tech men. There is another way.

Another day, another pizza. Homemade dough, whipped feta base with pesto, artichoke bruschetta, italian sausage, red onion and mozz. Not the prettiest, but very good! #pizzasky #foodsky #breadsky

i am genuinely bewildered by people who say that the rise of white nationalism in the republican party is a response to the "woke left." like, did the woke left cause pat buchanan's 1992 presidential campaign? is the woke left why steve king had a long career in congress?

Worth noting, as Macklemore was banned by NFL owners in what will be dubbed "fighting antisemitism", that Kanye, who - sold merch with swastikas - said on Alex Jones that he idolizes Hitler - tweeted he was "going Defcon 3 on Jewish people" is currently on a multi-city tour of NFL stadiums

Prem Thakker ツ@premthakker.bsky.social

New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran. Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

Some people treat "Trans" as a singular issue. And "ICE" as another. And "global warming" as another. All of them completely unrelated and separateand in vacuum. And it's blatantly obvious that they think that doing juuuust enough of these, but not too many cos they wanna minimax, is the smart move

There is always a special subset of people on the left who are on the lookout for new and exciting "this is why we can't vote for Dems and need to let the GOP win" Even in year 6 of Trump it is wild.
